Graph 1.0

The graph shows the relationship of the distribution constant and the average molecular weight
of solute to water and ether. The n of 0.5-1.0M of acetic acid is less than one which means that
the solute associates with water solution while for 0.25-0.5M of acetic acid indicates otherwise.

SAMPLE CALCULATIONS

mole NaOH = mole acetic acid

mole acetic acid = (MNaOH)(VNaOH)

mole acetic acid = 0.5×0.0185
mole acetic acid = 0.00925

Molarity of Solution = (moles acetic acid)/(volume of solution)

Molarity of Solution = 0.00925/0.015
Molarity of Solution = 0.6167

K = (C1^n)/(C2)
Equating K
[0.6584^n/0.2689] = [0.3134^n/0.1875]
Solving for n
n = 0.4857
Substituting n
K = 3.0356
