Kot Momin is a town in Sargodha District, Punjab, Pakistan. On 21 June 2003 Follow

The major tribe of this area are the Rajpoots (RAO and
Rana)Gondal[MUGHAL(Kashmiri)] Jats, and their sub-tribes such as the Gara, ▼ February (2)
Shirana, Shahabul ka, Mumnaana(from Momin Khan) and others. The tehsil is Kotmomin History
also home to other Jat clans such as the Lak, Ranjha, Khoti, Mekan Jethal, Kotmomin History
Bhin, Ghugh and Jalap.
Immigrants from India settled in Kot Momin in 1947, after the partition of India.
They belonged mostly to the Arain, Rajput, Hisar district, Chang, Nihar Pur, ABOUT ME
Niharsi, and Gujar clans. Other castes include the Sheikhs, Bhatti and Malik.

Politically strong families of Kotmoman city are the Gondal, Mughal, Rajput, Lak

AGRICULTURE AND ECONOMY
Kot Momin is well known for its production of Mandarian (citrus); for example,
Kinoo. Currently, there are 100 factories of export operating. They are exporting
Mondarian to different countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Korea,
United Kingdom, Canada, Sri Lanka, Russia, and Iran. There are certain Kinoo
model farms growing what is considered to be the best Kinoo with the help of
Punjab Government.
Other main crops of Kot Moman are wheat, rice, sugar cane, various
vegetables, and watermelon.
Politically strong families of Kotmoman city are the Gondal, Mughal, Rajput, Lak,
Rajpoots,(Both Rao and Rana) and Gujjars. Saghrana Family (Sub cast of
Gondal) has ruled Kotmoman Town Committee for 8 years, Shahabul ka family
has ruled for 8 years & Gara has ruled for 1 year (local bodies were demolished
by Pervez Musharaf)and A couple of politicians are distinguished by their
continuous success in elections to local bodies, for example Mr. Choudhry
Habib ur Rehman won election in 2000 and become first Nazim of the UC 38/2
kotmomin. Both are known as Mr. Clean. During his regime Mr. Rana Faiz
Muhammad has construct 1st sewerage system in Khawaja Abab in 80s.
EDUCATION
Kot Momin Has not well known education institutes, it has degree college for
boys and girls. Most of the brilliant student migrate to big city like Lahore,

Sargodha or Islamabad to get valued education. In high school level study, Kot
Momin has famous schools, Dar-ul-Ilm Model High School. Minhaj ul Quran
Model School, MIPS School,Dar-ul-Huda model school and Dar-e-Arkam model
school are trying to meet the standards of education. some ofthese schools are
under the management of current and past leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami (a well
managed political org.) Kot momin. Govt technical High School Kot Momin (Now
Higher Secondary School) has been an educational hub in the area. people
graduated from this institute are working in high profiled scientific and technical
research organisations and institutions in the world and specially in country. the
land and brain of this soil is very fartile. If education level of this area is
increased by the establishment of new latest equiped technical institutions in the
Tehsil. the people of this town can prove their talent in field of engineering as
well as agriculture. But lake of education and exposiour these hi-fi brains are
being wasted.
