Hello Everyone,

As finals week is fast

approaching, I hope everyone is
getting all their final
assignments, projects, and
papers finalized. This is definitely
a stressful time for all, but I know
you guys can get through it! My
motivation to get all of my work
done is that soon enough I will be
home enjoying the holidays with
my family and friends.

Internship Update

This year I landed an
internship for the Dean of
Science and Mathematics. I
work under Dan Drutz,
Public Relations and Event
Coordinator. My internship
runs for two consecutive
semesters. My
responsibilities include:
updating social media
regularly, taking pictures for
events, and writing stories
based on those events. While
my internship mainly has me
working on the social media
aspect within the College of
Science and Mathematics, I
do occasionally work on
updating the website.
Whatever needs to be done,
I am the person who will
complete those jobs.
I am also in charge of
keeping the bulletin boards
in Robinson Hall up to date,
as well as posting flyers for
the “Dean’s Distinguished
Speaker’s Series.” Special

Finals are quickly
approaching and it’s easy to
get stressed and
overwhelmed by everything
you have to do before the
semester ends. But, it’s also
easy to tackle finals and to
do the best you can.
1. Start early.
Don’t wait until a few days

the week. After making a list,

list can help make finals time

remember everything you
must do. When you have a lot
to do at the same time, it is
easy to forget something, so
making lists helps keep
everything organized and
helps you remember. Keep

I spent my past three winter
breaks working, working, and
working. As a self-supporting
college student, I always
needed to capitalize on any
free time to make some extra
cash. But this year’s different. I
saved and budgeted well so
that I could spend more time
focusing on internships,
classes, and PRSSA— and less
time working. Saving and
budgeting also freed up my
winter break for some fun.
After last-minute holiday
shopping and seeing my
family, I’m going to the
Poconos with my girlfriend,
Jessica. Her mom and aunt
share a cozy mountain
vacation home, just a
15-minute drive from the Jack
Frost Ski Resort. With no cable

shows, and help support

Festival which will take place
on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. This
event will take place in
Glassboro Town Square
which is located on 1 High St.
W., Glassboro, NJ 08028. Boro
In the Lights will take place
from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This
event is open to all Rowan
University students and there
will be a free food voucher
given out to the first 750
students who have their
Rowan IDs. This event will
include horse and carriage
rides, Toys for Tots and
canned food drives, photos
with Santa, live performances

Our December Member of the Month Goes to...
Christopher Smith
Christopher Smith is a Senior
PR major. Christopher
jumped around between
colleges and majors, from
fashion
merchandising at
Philadelphia
University to
journalism at
Temple
University and
finally decided
that PR at Rowan
was the right path
for him. He left
journalism
because it was too boring
and formulaic, and he then
chose PR because he wanted
to get into a field that
combined his interests in
writing and communications
but with a creative flair to it.
Christopher wants to work
with social media and other
new media in the PR field,
and ideally in publicity.

Dance Away Recap
By Melissa Livingstone, Senior PR major, Advertising minor
On Nov. 30, 2017,
approximately 40 Rowan
students from all majors
came together to make a
difference in the lives of
those living with cystic
fibrosis. The night was filled
with fun, dancing, food, raffle
prizes, but most
importantly —an impact.
The event concluded a
month long campaign
dedicated to raising money
and awareness in honor of
AJF-PRSSA’s former vice
president Colette Bleistine,
who passed away from cystic
fibrosis in 2012. With dozens
of students pitching in, we
were able to reach our
fundraising goal.

AJF-PRSSA hopes to pursue.
