Greyhounds are suffering and dying in Ireland's cruel greyhound racing industry. These shocking Irish Greyhound Board statistics reveal that in 2016, 427 greyhounds suffered injuries and 139 were destroyed at tracks around Ireland.
The greyhounds sustained injuries to legs, wrists, shoulders, backs, tails, muscles and toes.
These appalling statistics, and the suffering they reflect, make it clear that greyhound racing should be ended in Ireland and the government must immediately stop propping up the industry with millions of euros of taxpayers' money.
We are renewing our appeal to the public to stay away from tracks, to companies to stop sponsoring races and to schools and sports clubs to stop fundraising at tracks.
ACTION ALERT
Don't attend greyhound races or community fund-raisers held at greyhound tracks (these are a significant source of funding for the greyhound industry).
