Evidence
This lesson focused on synonyms. The lesson began with a song that discussed the definition
and gave a variety of examples. After that, synonyms were found and created- first by
modeling, and then as a class. Students then created their own ‘synonym rolls’, in which the
students cut and prepared a cinnamon roll and wrote a word on it; then, the students glued
two ‘icing packs’ or white sticks of paper on the roll that were synonymous with the original
word they wrote. After that, the students collaborated in pairs to complete the front side of a
worksheet themselves, before completing the back independently. Finally, students
completed two exit ticket questions to assess how well they understood the concepts.

Reflection
Since this lesson featured multiple assessment methods, the students were able to
showcase their understanding in multiple ways. No matter what learning style students
possessed, they were able to succeed because the lesson required them to use their
multiple intelligences in all aspects of assessment!
