employment.

It ensures the organization that; it has right number, right kind of people at the right place

and at the right time.

 Application Forms
Collecting written information about an applicant's education, work and non-work experiences.
The primary purpose of an application form is to prescreen job applicants.

 Employment Interviews

The employment interview is a vehicle for information exchange between applicant and
interviewer regarding an applicant's suitability and interest in a job the employer seeks to fill.

Tests used for screening applicants on the basis of skills, abilities, and aptitudes can be

Setting Up And Running Selection Exercises

 Ensure that each candidate should be assessed against all the selection criteria.

 Design the structure to provide an equal opportunity for each candidate.

 Clear understanding of what is being tasted and status the exercise has within overall selection process.

 Design the exercise in advance and provide the information to each candidates so they receive sufficient
time for preparation.

 Adopt the exercise for a candidate with a disability where appropriate.

 Ensure the exercise is not biased in favor of internal candidates.


Practical Test & Checklist

Practical test, more commonly known as a check-ride. In many job roles, candidates skills
can not be confirmed by reading the application form or through interview rather need a
practical test as part of the selection process.

Checklist:
 Ensure all tests are given with clear, unambiguous instructions.
 Test should be administrated in same way for each candidates.
 Ensure the test administrator is aware of their role and responsibilities.
Assessment Center

Assessment Centre or Management Assessment Centre is one of the selection techniques used in
organizations to measure the knowledge, skills & abilities (KSA) of a person. The participants are
evaluated by trained assessors by various techniques like simulations and also sometimes using
interviews & tests.

Commonly used simulation exercises include:


 In-basket exercise
 Leaderless group discussion
 Management games
 Fact-finding exercises
 Individual presentation exercises
