Inspect the transmission pass through connector and wiring for harness damage or pins that may have backed
out of the connectors. Pay close attention to the communication circuits (CAN). Inspect the wiring harness
where it travels past the exhaust shield on the side of the transmission and along the pan area. If damage to
the wiring or a backed out terminal is found, repair the condition. Make sure to double check the terminal
locks to be sure the terminals will not back out of the connectors.

On truck applications, if no problems were found, inspect the terminating or data link resistors for an open or
shorted condition, the harness for damage near the park brake pedal area, the harness for damage at the left
side of the IP junction block and for possible harness damage near the adjustable pedals motor. Also inspect
the harness where it runs over the intake manifold for any evidence of a rub through condition. Repair and
reroute the harness as needed.
