LIVE LOAD CALCULATION : -

Span = 25 m 25 m R= 246 m Speed = 60 kmph

i) Loading :
a) Both track of both span loaded 'LLa' = ( Refer Appendix - D ) = 1900 kN
Longitudinal Moment = 306 kN-m
b) One track of both span loaded 'LLb' = 1900 2 = 950 kN
Longitudinal Moment = 153 kN-m
Transverse eccentricity of train load for one track loaded condition is = 2.700 m
c) Both track of one span loaded 'LLc' = ( Refer Appendix - D ) = 1318 kN
Longitudinal eccentricity of train load for one span loaded condition is = 0.70 m
d) Both track of one span & one track of second span loaded 'LLd" =
Vertical load = (1900 +1318 ) 2 = 1609 kN
Longitudinal Moment = 306 2 + 659 x 0.70 = 614 kN-m
Transeverse moment = (950 - 659 )x 2.700 = 786 kN-m

ii) Braking/Traction force

These are considered as per RSI analysis doc. Cl. No. 7.2. For one span & for One track of both span loaded
condition, 50% BR/TR force is considered.
a) Both track of both span loaded = = 95 kN
b) One track of both span loaded = = 48 kN
c) Both track of one span loaded = = 48 kN
d) Both track of one span & one track of second span loaded 'LLd" = 71 kN ( Proportionatley)
As BR/TR forces are applied at rail level, these are transferred at bearing level as upward/downward load & shear.
Ht. from bearin top to rail top = = 0.66 m
Thus, additional vertical load on pedestal due to braking/traction force :
Both track of both span loaded = 95 x 0.66 25.0 = 3 kN
One track of both span loaded = 48 x 0.66 25.0 = 1 kN
As additional vertical loads are very small, these are neglected in calculation.

iii) Centrifugal force :

2
C1 = W * V / (127*R) ( Ref IRS Bridge Rule / Cl. 2.5.2(b) )
No, of axle on the span = = 5 Nos.
Axle load = = 17 MT
Centrifugal force is converted into per running meter transverse force
One track of both span loaded W = 17 x 9.81 x5 x2 = 67 kN/m
25.0
C1 = 67 x 60 ^2 = 7.7 kN/m
127 x 246
Total C1 = 7.7 x 25 = 192 kN
C1 (Both span loaded ) = 192 kN
C1 ( One track of both span loaded ) = 96 kN
C1 Both track of one span loaded = 96 kN
C1 Both track of one span & one track of second span loaded 'LLd" = 144 kN
Note : Transeverse force is assumed to act at 1.83 m above rail level as per IRS Bridge rule / Cl. 2.5.2(b)

Transeverse force 'C2' due to RSI :

These are considered as per RSI analysis doc. Cl. No. 7.2. For one span & for One track of both span loaded
condition, 50% BR/TR force is considered.
C2 (Both span loaded ) = = 83 kN
C2 ( One track of both span loaded ) = 42 kN
C2 Both track of one span loaded = 42 kN
C2 Both track of one span & one track of second span loaded 'LLd" = 62 kN
