Narrative Report

The problem that we observed is the street on how garbage trucks will passed
by and the garbage collectors will collect or will get the trash or garbage unless
you will give them some money.
I guess there are problems between barangay garbage trucks and the people
who are living in the community or place. And the streets should undergo in the
detour to have enough space in order to have a space on trucks who will passed
by. There is a problem between collectors and people who are living in the place.
They are continuous in complaining because collectors continuous on
demanding, residences should give them money before they get their trash. One
of the Biggest or Major Problem is this, what if the residence is lack in terms of
finance? It means that their garbage or trash will not be caught up? This is the
major factor why we are having economic and having some issues about air
because of its smell. And some of the residence did not know what the Proper
Waste Disposal is and how to do this.
The first problem of the Barangay is the Fund. There is a big struggle when it
comes to money. Because of lack of money the community cannot afford or they
cannot buy Garbage Bin for their community. Because of this, they didn’t know
how to dispose properly. They become a “throw here, throw there and throw
anywhere” people. Because of this, they bring this in the place where they go in
this manner they will throw their trashes anywhere and everywhere. This could
be the start of bad habit of throwing garbage everywhere.
Second problem is the frequency of days when the trucks will pick up their
trash and garbage. Imagine there is hundred plus houses in that particular area,
though the truck/s will only available to pick their garbage up one or two times a
week. The problem is this, if the truck is only one the effect of this would be the
garbage or trash well be spelled out on the street because of dogs and some
animals who are roaming around the street. And there is effect on air, children
and pregnant women will smell the bad odor that spelled out from the trash.
The Third Problem is how the residences segregate the biodegradable to non-
biodegradable. One of the Interviewee said that residences mix the
biodegradable into a non-biodegradable trash. There is a lack of Information
about how to segregate properly the garbage. The problem is there is no
program in the community to have a seminar or talk about the proper waste
disposal.
There is no enough worker to clean and pick up some garbage. There is only
one worker who is working in the whole barangay. The problem is this, how
about some street. What if the worker gets tired? There’s no other worker to help
him or her. And there’s only one side car to pick up the garbage. Imagine the
structure of a side car and there is no enough space to place all the garbage of
all the residences living there. And this side car is not available all time because
this is used to work or to an occupation to have money to have a financial
support to his or her family.
There is no regulatory or ordinance of proper waste disposal. It means that this
barangay the community is not aware what and how proper waste disposal is.
This could be the biggest factor why residences keep their habit on throwing
trashes everywhere. The solution is to have a Barangay Talk about Proper
Waste Disposal to have a Barangay Clearing Operation, to have another side car
and truck to passed through the streets and to have a garbage trash bin walk
along the streets and to have 2 trash bins every home in order to segregate
wastes properly.
