Mountmellick Macra Presents their 20th Pantomime Aladdin
Mountmellick Macra presents Aladdin a Pantomime for all the family to enjoy. Aladdin will be held in Mountmellick Macra Hall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 22nd, 23rd and 24th at 8.15pm, and on Sunday 25th there is a matinee show at 3.00pm and the last show on that evening at 7pm.
Aladdin (Shane Carter) is the poor son of the local laundry lady, Widow Twanky (Gemma Dunphy). One day he meets the Princess Jasmine (Anne Marie Colgan), the daughter of the King of the land (Vignesh Kannan), and falls madly in love. However Abaneezer (Kat Nelson), the evil sorcerer, tricks Aladdin into working for him. Unknown to Aladdin, he is the only one who can enter and unlock the treasures of a secret cave, including a magical lamp. Aladdin finds the lamp and releases the genie (Aoife Fitzpatrick) trapped within. The genie offers to grant him three wishes. Abaneezer wants the lamp for himself, but not if Smash and Grab (Eoghan O’Neill / Andrew Dunne) have anything to do with it. Many adventures follow...
Tickets are priced at €10 for adults and €5 for children with a special price of €5 on Thursday (for all). These are available in O’Gorman’s newsagents, or on the door. For all shows please be seated by 8pm from Thursday to Saturday and at 2.45pm for our Sunday Matinee and 6.45pm for our Sunday evening show as seats cannot be guaranteed after this time. Our pantomime is produced and directed by Brian Brady, all our choreography is by Louise Ahern.
