VICTORIA, TEXAS

OFFICER OF THE YEAR

This recognition is hereby awarded to
SENIOR POLICE OFFICER
BRANDEN ALLEN
This award is for your continued commitment to the citizens of Victoria and the police
department.

As a Traffic Safety Officer, you have used your training in Accident Reconstruction to be
utilized as an expert witness for the Victoria County DA’s Office. Your professional demeanor
and outstanding articulation during two Intoxication Manslaughter cases assisted in the
securing of a guilty verdict in each case. You have also used this training in coordinating
special events, planning train safety operations, participating in TXDOT highway project
meetings, and successfully preparing a TXDOT Grant for 2018.

Since your certification as a Police Motorcycle Operator, you have taken that traffic
enforcement tool and have changed it to a topic of conversation relating to traffic concerns in
the community. You have also used the motorcycle in impactful ways for the community by
making numerous appearances for community and school parades, civic organizations,
traffic escorts, and community policing events.

As a senior member of the SWAT team, your specialized instructor certifications have allowed
you to assist the department and its officers in Active Shooter Training and Crowd Control
Training. You have also taken an active role in instructing the Citizen’s Academy and
Civilian Police Academy.

You continually go above and beyond the call of duty. You truly exemplify the Core Values of
the Victoria Police Department and it is with pleasure to recognize you as our 2017 Officer of
the Year.

Awarded this the 23RD day of January, 2018
