Paper Recycling is a necessity especially these days when we are having troubles
finding resources to provide for our needs. This research study aims to make an innovation
about paper recycling that would mainly benefit schools, in this case creating a
multifunctional chair. The study will be conducted in Liloy National High School from July
2016 to March 2017. The research study is all about creating paper slurry mixed with
sawdust and aloe vera to be processed into Paper Timbers. These timbers are made from
recycled papers thus this is economical and environmentally friendly. Timbers such as this
one are equipped with premium strength due to fibers extracted from the three major
components and are solidified and strengthened using heat and pressure especially when
processed with the right equipment. The researchers would use the results to assess
whether paper timbers could be used as a substitute for wood as the number of trees both
locally and worldwide is abruptly getting smaller due to continuous logging for structural
uses.
There are three main aspects of the Paper Timber that this study aims to assess, the
first one is the appearance, the second one is the durability, and the last one is the quality.
The collection of data will be done using non-objective surveys with randomly selected set of
validators. Results will then be studied painstakingly, and once done will be pushed to
dissemination for innovative purposes. It is our only mission to care for the environment in
any way we can, and if that includes conducting a research, then we must.
RESULTS, DISCUSSIONS, AND CONCLUSION
Based on the gathered data, the Paper Timber is Very Efficient in terms of
Appearance with a mean of 4.95. In terms of Durability, the product was Very Efficient
with a mean of 4.9. And lastly, in terms of Quality, the Paper Timber is Very Efficient with a
mean of 4.8.
With a valid data, the researchers then drew the conclusion that the paper timber
Quality. It can be used efficiently in almost all furniture as it manifests; very efficient
appearance with very efficient texture, color, size, and shape; very efficient Quality with very
Comfort was the main issue here as it got the lowest raw mean with 4.4, it was
basically something that needed to be improved but it wasn’t able to pull down the product
rating so all in all, the product showed positive results and the research study was a
success. And the researchers believe that there is still room for improvement, so the
