LESSON AIMS: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
- to test/consolidate vocabulary and grammar learnt throughout the modules,
- to practice everyday English,
- to listen for specific information
ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: -some students might need further help and extra indications in
solving the tasks and they may also need some of these indications to be given in Romanian;
-some students might feel nervous and reluctant to participate in the activity, so they may need
more encouragement.

MATERIALS: drawing sheets, worksheets, laptop, video projector, flipchart


METHODS: conversation, explanation, grammar exercises, brainstorming, Venn diagram
INTERACTIONS: whole class, group work, T-Ss, Ss-T,
ORGANIZATIONAL MOMENT: the student on duty tells the absents; the T writes the absents
in the register, then the T checks the homework and the students correct the mistakes, if
necessary.
Timing: 3 minutes.

Activity 1:
Aims: -revise vocabulary (listening, speaking, writing)
Timing: 10 minutes.
Interactions: T-Ss, Ss-T
Procedures: The teacher announces the title of the lesson and writes it on the blackboard. The
teacher tells students that they are going to talk about family members and invites students to
watch a short video in order to remember the vocabulary. After watching the video the teacher
asks students to tell the family members and write them in a chart.

The teacher asks student to describe a member of their family using the adjectives learnt in the
modules. (young, old, beautiful, ugly, short, tall, thin, plump, friendly, nice, funny)
Activity 2:
-revise verb to be, have got and vocabulary
- to practice reading
Timing: 10 minutes.
Interaction: T-Ss, whole class
Procedures: The teacher gives to students a handout with a text. The teacher pin on the flipchart
a Family tree and asks the students to complete the text. The teacher helps where necessary.

Activity 3:
Aims: - practice verb to be (writing, reading)
Timing: 7 minutes.
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-T.
Procedures: The teacher asks the students to solve the second exercise. They have to underline
the correct form of the verb to be. The students do this task and read the exercise, correcting the
mistakes, if necessary. (appendix 2)
The teacher asks students to identify the countries in the sentences from the previous exercise
and to say and write the nationalities. Teacher helps if necessary.

Activity 4:
Aims: -to practice verb have got (speaking, writing)
Timing: 10 minutes.
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-T., whole class
Procedures: The teacher asks students to make up sentences using verb have got. She pins a big
sheet of paper with Venn Diagram on the board. She writes an example on the board.
e.g. Martin has got a cap. She helps if necessary. The students come to the blackboard to write
the sentences.

Activity 5:
Aims: -to practice plural of the nouns.

Timing: 8 minutes.
Interaction: work group, T-Ss, Ss-T.
Procedures: The T gives to each group a handout with scrambled nouns. The teacher asks
students to remember the rules of plural. Each group has to choose the right nouns. (appendix 3)

A student from the group is chosen to read the sentences. The other students correct if necessary.
After that the teacher asks students to come to the board and write the plural form of the irregular
nouns.
