PART 2 – to both students (interaction).- 2/ 3 minutes

I’m going to describe a situation to you.

Situation:

At the end of the term, your class is going to spend a day at the seaside. Talk together
about the things you will do there. All right? Talk together.

(give students Picture 1 A)

Here is a picture with some ideas to help you (give sts a few moments to look at
the picture; teacher shouldn’t join unless sts have problems

Teacher/ Examiner repeats the situation

Part 3- 3 minutes; both sts

Now I’d like each of you to talk on your own about sth. I’m going to give each of
you a photograph of one way of travelling.

To st A: here’s your photo. (give st A Photo 1 B). Please show it to st B but I’d
like you to talk about it. St B, you just listen. I’ll give your photo in a moment.

St A: please tell us what you can see in your photo

….Thank you (take back photo)

St B: please tell us what you can see in your photo (give st B Photo 1 C). It also
shows a way of travelling. Please show it to St A and tell us what you can see in
the photo.

Part 4 – 3 minutes; both sts

Your photos showed different ways of travelling. Now I’d like you to talk together
about how you would choose to travel.

(give sts about 2 minutes to talk together. Do not join unless they have
problems, for example to offer a comment. “I prefer to fly but I know it’s not good
for the environment”.
