This was the first lesson about animals growing. We practiced talking about animal babies. Some vocabulary
words for this lesson were kitten, puppy, chick, piglet, baby, adult, grow. To help with reading we practiced -all, -
ell, -ill words and read about baby animals. For grammar we worked on the sentence 'A ___ is a baby ___'. We
also practiced the sight words on/at/she/but/they.
Since this was a new lesson, Girl struggled with it. She always works so hard and I am so proud of her. She
should practice the words kitten, puppy, chick, piglet, baby, adult, grow. She should also work on the sentences
'A kitten is a baby cat', 'A puppy is a baby dog', 'A piglet is a baby pig', 'A chick is a baby chicken'. These all
answer the question, 'What is a baby cat/dog/pig/chicken?'. The next lesson will continue to work on this and
will also introduce big/small/long/short/tall/short. It will also cover pronouns and the verbs do/grow/change.
Remind her that when using I/you/we/they the verb is regular but when using he/she/it the verb has an '-
s' or '-es' at the end. He/she/it always gets an s; I/you/we/they do not get an s. (I/you/we/they
do/grow/change. He/she/it does/grows/changes.)
Please let me know in your feedback if Girl enjoyed today's lesson! Hugs! - Teacher Sunny :) ***** I do not have
a student right after Girl next week so I can stay late and help her.
