Voldemort (Acoustic) – With Confidence

Concept

My concept for this production is to create a performance based music

video , that emphasises stylised editing and visual techniques to create an
interesting piece of music video media that can appeal to a variety of
audiences, as performance based videos are more universal as narratives
can often be specific to the person consuming the media, whereas an artist
performing is far more of a neutral concept, and thus less likely to turn certain
audience members off of the video.

Why are you producing this production?

I am producing this specific production because of the data my research has

lead me to, with it indicating that a large majority of audiences enjoy seeing
productions that have a bigger emphasis on visual spectacle rather than
stories, as stories are more subjective than performance videos. I have seen
through my research of online productions that there is also a much bigger
diversity between various performance based music videos (which can still
contain some narrative elements, although usually far more abstract than
that of a full on narrative centric music video); the variety of editing
techniques gives me a lot of freedom to manipulate my shots in creative
ways and experiment with what footage I have.

Deadline

The deadline for my final production is the –

The deadline for each individual LO is as follows –

Target audience is

As stated by the brief, my target audience is both male and female viewers
within the age brackets of 10-19, 30-40 and 50-60, which is a very broad
spectrum to cover when it comes to creating content to appeal to such a
variety of age ranges.

What they want to see

From my research I can conclude that the large majority of my target

audience wish to see music videos that they can access online (primarily
through YouTube); videos that focus on a performance based aspect of the
artist – playing the instruments in the video – and have a heavy emphasis on
creative and stylistic editing to keep the visuals fresh and unique (this is
probably because of the less subjective nature of a performance based
piece compared to that of a production that focuses on telling a story, as
stories can have more controversial or less appealing material to the masses
rather than creative lighting , camera effects and transitions (etc.).

What you are creating based from that research

From that research as mentioned before, I am aiming to create a stylistic

performance-based production that focuses on the artist ‘playing’ the piece
in the video and using a variety of editing, camera and lighting techniques
(to name a few) to keep the audience interested and entertained.

Where the production will be aired (why – based on target audience)

As indicated by the landslide popularity of YouTube (with over 90% of my

interviewees using the website to access their music video media). This should
be useful for my production as YouTube is already an incredibly popular and
well-established website, with high resolution video support (so that I don’t
lose quality), lots of social media integration, which allows my younger more
social media savvy audience members to share the video, potentially
leading to viral success and widespread popularity online.
