On the basis of publications from Polish O.J. dated 2010, No. 85 position 553.
The hydrant should meet the requirements of the PN-EN 14384 standard. The meeting
of requirements should be confirmed by an appropriate document.
The hydrant should be equipped with two size 75 side nozzles. Hydrants with nominal
diameters of DN 100 and DN 150 should also be equipped with a size 110 fire connection
(a second size 110 nozzle for the DN 150 hydrant is also permitted).
Side and head nozzles should permit connection with couplings in keeping with the
PN-M-51031 standard with a guarantee of tightness under hydrant test pressure conditions,
with the use of the coupling spanners in keeping with the PN-M-74088 standard or the
PN-M-51014 standard). Nozzles’ covers should be attached to the main body of the hydrant
with the use of a line or chain. Nozzle covers should be produced in keeping with the
PN-M-51024 standard or other standards (with an external thread), made out of aluminium
alloy, copper or cast iron. It should be possible to close and open the nozzle covers with the
use of a spanner in keeping with the PN-M-74088 standard or the PN-M-51014 standard.
The hydrant should be equipped with a head for opening the valve with a spanner made
in keeping with the PN-M-74088 standard. The hydrant should be equipped with a drainage
device, placed at the same level as the main hydrant valve which opens automatically
following the closing of the valve.
In the upper part of the hydrant there should be installed a one-directional aerating valve
which opens automatically whilst drainage the hydrant by means of the drainage device.
