1. Answer the following in about 200 words each: 16x10 = 160

(i) Even though Assam receives annual rainfall in huge amount, why frequently agricultural drought
hit the state?

(ii) Give a detailed analysis of Interlinking of rivers in India. Mention it’s possible positive and
negative effects.

(iii) Discuss the effects of groundwater depletion and also suggest some approaches for regulation of
groundwater.

(iv) Describe the causes and implications of recent changes in production patterns of India's sugar
industry

(v) Examine the causes of floods in Assam. Do you considered a purely natural calamity and justify
your stand?

(vi) Analyse whether India and Bangladesh have wasted opportunities for shared advantages, as
both are intricately linked by geography.

(vii) What are crypto-currencies? Critically evaluate the positives and negatives of making crypto-
currencies like Bitcoin as legal tender?

(viii) What are the consequences of climate change on agricultural sector and food security of the
masses? List out some steps to be taken to tackle these challenges.

(ix) Give a critical view of the various provisions of the National IPR Policy launched by the Govt of
India.

(x) Briefly give a brief account of the major milestones India has achieved in the field of Space
Science and Technology.

(v) Discuss the role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in bringing integration in
the South-East Asia.

(vi) What are the main challenges the tribal women of India faces and also list some measures taken
to overcome these challenges.

(vii) Suggest some solutions to the challenges of managing rapid expansion of urban areas in India.

(viii) What is Multi-Drug Resistant (MDR) TB? Why is diagnosis of TB in children difficult?

(ix) What is LIDAR and what are its applications.

(x) What does Biosimilar drugs mean? How is it different from Generic Drugs?
