ETHIOPIAN ES ISO 20128:2012 STANDARD Fist cation Milk products- Enumeration of presumptive Lactobacillus acidophilus on a selective medium- Colony-count technique at 37 °C ICS; 67.100.20 Published by Ethiopian Standards Agency @ESA Foreword ‘This Ethiopian Standard has been prepared under the direction of the Technical Committee for Milk and milk products (TG 25) and published by the Ethiopian Standards Agency (ESA). The standard is identical with 18020128: 2005, Milk products- Enumeration of presumptive lactobacillus acidophilus on a selective medium - Colony- count technique at 37°, published by International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Forthe purpose of this Ethiopian Standard, the adopted text shall be modified as follows. * The phrase “International Standard” shall be read as “Ethiopian Standard”; and * Afull stop (.) shall substitute comma (,) as decimal marker. ES 1SO 20128:2012 Introduction Because of the large varioty of fermented and non-formented mills, this method may not be appropriate in every detail for certain products. This could be the case where the number of presumptive Laciobecillus acidophilus is very much lower than the number of other microorganisms such a8 Lactobacilus rhamnosus, Lactobacius reuten, Lactobacilies plantarum, Lactobacitus helveticus and yeasts.
