CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION

1.1 AIM

The aim is to study and understand the hotel design principles and hospitality development
planning.

The objective of this study will be to understand the interaction between the hotel requirements
and design. Hotel has its own individuality and ambience. It has a distinct environment of its
own. As a basis of planning, it is however possible to identify the number of underlying
principles which can be applied in most cases and reflect the main objective in a hotel design.
Design challenges need to be sub-divided into two streams of study.
 To satisfy all the facility for a five star hotel
 To design a hotelier a site infill

1.2 REASON FOR SELECTION

Tourism is considered as one of the largest and fastest growing industry of the modern business
world. It can surely play a very vital role in our country‘s economy. However, in our country this
industry fails to reach its destination for insufficient investments, marketing practices etc. Noida
is a systematically planned Indian city under the management of the New Okhla Industrial
Development Authority (also called NOIDA). It is part of National Capital Region of India.
Therefore it has a potential of catering to the growing need of tourism in the country. It is
because of this reason; I have proposed a hotel in Noida.

1.3 LEARNING OUTCOME

After studying this topic I will be able to

 Develop tourism industry as a whole inside and outside the state and to develop national
and international tourism in India and abroad wherever felt necessary.
 To encourage, promote and protect the growth of tourism industry, hotel and industry
business all person within members interest of concern in such nature of activities.
1.4 METHODOLOGY
CHAPTER 02 : SITE SYNTHESIS

2.1 SITE INTRODUCTION

The site is located on Noida Express way in sector -129, Noida, U.P. Total area of site is 20 acres. The
site is irregular in shape and is flat in nature. The site is accessible from two sides via 30 meters and 60
meters wide roads.
2.2 SITE SURROUNDING

On the north side of the site is the Noida Express way, orchards are located on the east, residential
projects are present on south and on west is the commercial area.
Other amenities in the site surrounding are the Jaypee Public school and Medical Center.
2.3 SITE PHOTOGRAPH
2.4 CLIMATIC DATA

The climate here is considered to be a local steppe climate. During the year, there is little rainfall in
Noida. The temperature here averages 25.2 °C. The rainfall here averages 728 mm.

The driest month is April, with 2 mm of rain. Most precipitation falls in August, with an average of
256 mm
June is the warmest month of the year. The temperature in June averages 34.2 °C. In January, the
average temperature is 14.4 °C. It is the lowest average temperature of the whole year.

There is a difference of 254 mm of precipitation between the driest and wettest months. The
average temperatures vary during the year by 19.8 °C.

CHAPTER 03: AREA PROGRAM

According to the international standards the program is designed. In this project, I

will go through these programs which are given by the authority.

An extravagantly spacious lobby can bring the comfort and difference, the concept in lighting can
take the experience to another level, it make the guests and their feelings more lively, an atrium
can be included behind the grandness of the space.

Shopping facilities
A travel agency, foreign exchange, bakery, pharmacy, flower shop etc can be provided and
blended with the hotel function.

CHAPTER 5: CONCEPTUAL STAGE AND DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

5.1 CONCEPT

The idea is to create an architectural realm with the ability of physically and mentally healing its
guests, it’s because of this reason; the design has been developed with natural elements like
greenery, natural light, water etc.
The idea for landscape is to have large horizontal green garden features which merge with the
geometry of hotel blocks. The hotel facility will have an active recreational side catering to
different seasons. Very sensitive site planning approach deals with large tracts of open spaces
of different character from reflecting pools to water bodies, musical fountains to Olympic size
swimming pool. Furthermore connecting corridors over reflecting pool will give sense of
pleasure.

CONCLUSION:

The completion of designing this project has opened many things to learn, realize and be aware
about. Though it‘s a five star hotel on the land of Noida, it‘s a very sensitive project for its
location, context, site etc. The site was a piece of silence, pleasure and beauty. It was actually a
try to design without interrupting the site and context, a try bring the men closer to nature. The
nature of the site guided me a lot in designing itself. It has shown me the path I should go with. I
wanted that the building will grow out of the need, and I believe, that the nature wanted it too.
The holistic experience of the hotel will be enriched by the existing elements of nature and that
makes the project a rational one.
