Projects:
1. Project Title: Substantiate the Nacelle Anti-Icing system (NAI) of Passport-20 Engine for
LCF, HCF & FBO Loads
Tools: ANSYS, HyperMesh
Client: GE Aviation
Summary: The objective of the project was to demonstrate and verify the capability of
NAI system of to withstand the high vibrational loads, which will develop
during the operation. The scope of the project also covers the weight
optimisation of existing design.
2. Project Title: Design & Analysis of Pressure Sense Line System of GE9x engine
Tools: ANSYS,
Client: GE Aviation
Summary: The objective of the project was to evaluate the preliminary design of Pressure
sense line System of the GE9x engine. Based on the analysis result suggest
design amendment to enhance system capabilities to withstand the high
vibrational loads which will develop during the operation.

3. Project Title: Design & Development of HPT & LPT ACC Panel for GE9x Engine
Tools: ANSYS, HyperMesh, UG-Nx
Client: GE Aviation
Summary: The main objective of the project was to develop the design of the High &
Low-Pressure Turbine active clearance control (HPT & LPT ACC) panels to
reduce the manufacturing complexity and cost. Modified design had evaluated
by performing LCF and HCF analysis using ANSYS and HyperMesh.

4. Project Title: Design & Analysis of 4th,7th &11th stage Air Bleed System of GE9x engine
Tools: ANSYS, HyperMesh
Client: GE Aviation
Summary: The objective of the project was to evaluate the design of the 4th, 7th & 11th
stage Air Bleed System of GE9x engine. Based on the analysis result suggest
design amendment to enhance system capabilities to withstand the high
vibrational loads which will develop during the operation. The scope of the
project also covers the weight optimisation of existing design.
5. Project Title: Damage Tolerance Evaluation of Gas Turbine Engine Fan Blade-out
Containment Structures
Tools: HyperMesh, LS-Dyna
Client: Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bangalore
Summary: The aim of the project is to develop, validate and apply an accurate Non-
Linear Finite Element Simulation and analysis for assessing Gas Turbine Fan
Blade-out Containment Structures. Containment study is equally important in
weight optimisation and safety point of view because an optimum balance has
to be achieved while containing the ejected blade without much increase in
casing thickness.
6. Project Title: Analysis of Thermo-Mechanical Fatigue in Turbine Blade using FEA.

Tools: HyperMesh, ANSYS, UG-Nx

Client: Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bangalore
Summary: This Project work focuses on the thermal and mechanical analysis of the
GTRE’s KAVERI ENGINE turbine blades. To identify the causes of the blade
fatigue failures, a complete investigation was carried out, by integrating
thermal analyses, mechanical analyses and metallurgical examination. The
project consists CAD modelling, Thermal and Mechanical Structural analysis
to optimise the design.

7. Project Title: Design and analysis of Modulated temperature controller (MTC) of GE9x.
Tools: ANSYS, UG-Nx
Client: GE Aviation
Summary: The objective of the project was to develop a new design of Modulated
temperature controller (MTC) for the 1st stage of the High-pressure turbine to
reduce the manufacturing complexity and cost. Various new Support structure
proposals model has developed in UG-Nx and LCF and HCF analysis is
performed using ANSYS and HyperMesh.
8. Project Title: Cost reduction of GeNx Transient Bleed valve system
Tools: UG-Nx, Ansys & HyperMesh
Client: GE Aviation
Summary: The aim of the project was to reduce the manufacturing cost of the transient
bleed valve system of the GeNx engine. This has been achieved by changing
the support structure design by using the UG-Nx. The new design has been
analysed for the low and high cycle fatigue loading using ANSYS.
9. Project Title: Engineering Analysis and Optimisation of Airborne Winch System

Tools: HyperMesh, ANSYS

Client: Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi
10. Project Title: Finite Element Analysis of Core Electronic Warfare Unit
Tools: HyperMesh, ANSYS
Client: DARE, Bangalore
Summary: The Core Electronic Warfare Unit is used for Aerospace applications and is
made up of frames, castings and brackets and sheet metal covers. The
structural design of the entire CEWU assembly body is tested for various
dynamic loads like shock and vibration loads.
11. Project Title: Cost reduction of GeNx Fan case fire suppressor and lubrication system
Tools: UG-Nx, Ansys & HyperMesh
Client: GE Aviation
Summary: The aim of the project was to reduce the manufacturing cost of the Fan case
fire suppressor and lubrication system of the GeNx engine. This has been
achieved by changing the routeing design by using the UG-Nx Mechanical
Routing feature. The new design has been analysed for the low and high cycle
fatigue loading using ANSYS.
