IMPASSE!!!!
Dear PEA Members,

The District came back again offering a 0% raise on our 14th bargaining session for the
year. Additionally there were a bunch of NOs on all of our other proposals and the
increase in benefit coverage at the Kaiser Rate for March or no later than 30 days after
ratification (health proposal from the January 25 bargaining session). The students and
teachers in Pittsburg deserve better! We are at impasse and will seek the support of a
state mediator.

 The District's money is ongoing!
 The District continues to have growth in student attendance!
 The District is spending less of its budget on unit members each year!

The District has also continued to deny any concrete class size changes for Special
Education that has a variety of types of classes. We have no class size limits for Special
Education. The District is proposing limits on Special Education at the Elementary
level as a "guideline" but they refuse to put any limit on Secondary Special Education
class sizes. The district has also refused to put any limits on general education
Secondary levels. The District wants to run their class sizes based on facilities. The
District is offering NO support for Adult Education either. Is that putting students
first? We say NO, so join us for the Mega March/Rally on March 7th!
