Organizer‘s Statement
Green Building has rapidly become a necessity for all public cons-
truction throughout the United Arab Emirates. Not only does this
new awareness help to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the
region, it also helps the Emirates with limited energy resources to
economize. One major contribution to these savings comes from
construction and renovation projects, where intelligent building
materials can be employed.
Factory-made drymix mortars play a decisive role when it comes to
thermal insulation, reduction of jobsite traffic as well as durable, low-
maintenance construction.
The Government of Abu Dhabi has undertaken a tremendous effort
to increase the awareness of green building in the community. Not
only the lighthouse project Masdar City, but also green regulations
are being developed and put into legislation mainly by Estidama.
The forum will discuss, how this potential modern, factory pre-mixed
drymix mortars can contribute to green building. The conference is
geared towards government and municipality employees, specifiers
(consultants) and developers.
