“No”. Ahmed sits and watches Ali playing with the ball. The ball rolls away from Ali. Ahmed
picks it up and starts playing with it. Ali says, “Give me my ball”. Ahmed says, “No, I want to

Scenario #2
What happened

On Ayesha’s birthday she received a beautiful pen from her parents as a birthday present. She
brought it to school the next day. During first period she showed it to all her friends who admired
it very much. Bilquis was not one of the students who was invited to see the pen. She saw the other
girls looking at it and said, “Oh, what a beautiful pen. Can I please see it, Ayesha?” Ayesha turned
away from Bilquis and answered curtly, “No.”
Later on in the period Bilquis saw that Ayesha was not at her desk but the pen was there. She took
the pen back to her desk to look at it. When Ayesha returned to her desk and noticed that her pen
was missing she screamed, “My pen, my pen. Somebody stole my pen.” The whole class was
distracted. Bilquis quickly got up from her desk to return the pen. She explained, “I have your pen.
I just took it to look at it. It’s so beautiful”. Ayesha grabbed the pen back from Bilquis and
everybody went back to work.
After recess, when Ayesha returned to her desk, she discovered that her new pen was missing. She
reported it to the teacher and told the teacher what Bilquis had done during the first period.
Ayesha’s friends joined in the chorus and said that Bilquis had stolen Ayesha’s pen in the first
period and had probably stolen it again. When the teacher asked Bilquis she denied stealing the
pen.

Scenario #3
What happened

Anwar is a highly intelligent but difficult student. He has a short temper and is constantly getting
into fights with his teachers and other students. He has been warned several times by the Teacher
about his behaviour and has been told that if he gets into a fight again he will be expelled from the
school.
He was with a group of friends in the schoolyard before the morning bell. He was talking, joking
and laughing with his friends when an altercation broke out between him and Basel who was
walking by with his friends. Basel thought that Anwar was making fun of him. So Basel grabbed
him by his collar at his throat with his right hand and he placed the back of his left hand under
Anwar’s chin and pushed it back saying, “ You think you’re funny?” Anwar felt himself being
strangled. He was struggling against Basel’s grip when the teacher saw the scuffle and broke it up.
Because Anwar is usually the cause of all trouble in the school the teacher asked Anwar to come
with him to his class.
