Note: All fees are in Canadian funds and can be paid by money order,
certified or corporate cheque, Visa, MasterCard or Amex. Fees are subject to
change without notice.

There is no charge for your first attempt at a paper based exam within
Canada, as long as it's at a regular exam center and you provide a minimum
of 14 days notice before the date that you want to write the exam. (Please note
that the date of the exam is not part of the 14 day notice period). Exam
sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited - so
book early!

If you would like to write a computer-based exam, an additional $75 fee

will be required.

You can book only one exam per exam session.

Computer-based exams
Currently, computer based exams are offered in Toronto and Montreal. There
is an additional $75 charge for computer based exams. Exams currently
available in computer-based format are the:

Using an intuitive and user-friendly format, you can answer multiple-choice

exam questions electronically and receive unofficial results prior to leaving
the exam room. Official results are available the next business day.

Features of the computer-based exam:

Built in "timer" allows you to monitor remaining exam time

Ability to change your answers as many times as you wish during the
exam session
Ability to view the status of your exam at a glance (i.e. questions
 answered and saved, questions answered but not saved, unanswered
questions)
Unofficial "pass" or "fail" results provided by the system at the end of the
exam

Computer-based exams are available on a first-come, first-served

basis. Space is limited so book early!

The system will generate a result for you at the end of your exam. This result
is unofficial and does not include your actual score. Official scores will be
available the next business day after completing your exam. At the end of
your exam, you will receive one of the following messages:

Pass - Congratulations! You have passed the exam. Your official confirmation
will be available within 1 business day. You can access this notification by
logging into your student profile to receive feedback on this exam attempt.

Fail - Unfortunately, you were unsuccessful and will need to rewrite the
exam. Your official notification will be available within 1 business day. You
can access this notification by logging in to your student profile to receive
feedback on this exam attempt.

Subsequent exam attempts

Students are permitted 3 attempts for each exam (with the

exception of the AFP Certification Examination)

If you're required to book a subsequent paper based exam attempt at a

regular exam centre within Canada there will be a fee of $250 plus tax. You
must provide a minimum of 14 days notice before the date that you want to
write the exam. (Please note that the date of the exam is not part of the 14 day
notice period).

If you would like to write a computer-based exam, an additional fee of $75

will be required.

Exam sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is

limited - so book early!

You can book only one exam per exam session.

International exam booking (excluding the Caribbean)

Students who enrol in any CSI course are required to pay an

international exam sitting fee.

Regular International Quarterly Exam Sessions:

CSI will run 4 regular international exam sessions per year. These will run
quarterly and will be arranged towards the end of the following months
March, June, September, and December.

First exam attempt: $100 CDN*

Subsequent exam attempts: $250 CDN*
Late cancellation of an exam session (we require 14 days notice to cancel
an exam session without penalty - the exam date is not included as part
of the 14 day notice period) - the fees you paid are not refundable and are
not transferable to your next session.

Students must apply by February 15 for the March quarterly session, May
15 for the June quarterly session, August 15 for the September quarterly
session and November 10 for the December quarterly session. These
quarterly international exam sessions will be arranged towards the end of
month. You will be notified of the date, time and location.

Special International Exam Sessions:

Candidates can request to have a special international exam sitting. These

will be arranged towards the end of any given month. The cost to arrange a
special international exam session is:

First exam attempt: $350* CDN

Subsequent exam attempts: $350* for international fee + $250 rewrite
fee = $600 CDN
Late cancellation of an exam session (we require 14 days notice to cancel
an exam session without penalty - the exam date is not included as part
of the 14 day notice period) - the fees you paid are not refundable and are
not transferable to your next session.

Students must provide 4 weeks notice in order to schedule their exams. You
can book only one exam per exam session. Once your exam date has been
confirmed you will be notified of the date, time and location.

*CSI reserves the right to increase the exam sitting fee depending on the
accessibility, availability and other factors associated with the exam center.

Caribbean exam booking

Students who enrol in any CSI course are required to pay an

international exam sitting fee.

Regular Caribbean Exam Sessions:

CSI will run 6 regular Caribbean exam sessions per year. These will run bi-
monthly and will be arranged towards the end of the months of January,
March, May, July, September and November.

First exam attempt: $100 CDN*

Subsequent exam attempts: $250 CDN*
Late cancellation of an exam session (we require 14 days notice to cancel
an exam session without penalty - the exam date is not included as part
of the 14 date notice period) - the fees you paid are non refunable and are
not transferable to your next session.
Students must apply with approximately 6 weeks' notice. These bi-monthly
exam sessions will be arranged toweards the end of month. You will be
notified of the date, time and location.

You can book only one exam per exam session. Once your exam date has been
confirmed you will be notified of the date, time and location.

Special Caribbean Exam Sessions:

Candidates can request to write during the alternate months by arranging a

special exam sitting. These will be arranged towards the end of the month.
The cost to arrange a special Caribbean exam session is:

First exam attempt: $350* CDN

Subsequent exam attempts: $350* for international fee + $250 rewrite
fee = $600 CDN
Late cancellation of an exam session (we require 14 days notice to cancel
an exam session without penalty - the exam date is not included as part
of the 14 day notice period) - the fees you paid are not refundable and are
not transferable to your next session.

Candidates who live within 200 km of a regular exam center:

If this is your first attempt at the exam and you would like to write it in a
special exam center or on an alternate date at a regular exam center there will
be a charge of $250. Regular exam centers can be found here. Once you have
booked or requested your exam, you will be contacted by an Exam
Administrator for payment.

First exam attempt: $250 CDN

Subsequent exam attempts: $250 for special center fee + $250 rewrite
fee = $500 CDN
Late cancellation of an exam session (we require 14 days notice to cancel
an exam session without penalty - the exam date is not included as part
of the 14 day notice period) - the fees you paid are not refundable and are
not transferable to your next session. You can book only one exam per
exam session.

Candidates who live more than 200 km of a regular exam center:

If this is your first attempt at the exam and you live more than 200 km from a
regular exam center Regular exam centers can be found here and would like
to write your exam in a special exam center, there will be a fee of $50. Once
you have booked or requested your exam, you will be contacted by an Exam
Administrator for payment.

First exam attempt: $50 CDN

Subsequent exam attempts: $250 CDN
Late cancellation of an exam session (we require 14 days notice to cancel
an exam session without penalty - the exam date is not included as part
of the 14 day notice period) - the fees you paid are not refundable and are
not transferable to your next session. You can book only one exam per
exam session.

Please note: to determine whether the student qualifies for a special exam
sitting, it is CSI's discretion.

Express exams

In most cases, CSI's express exam booking service allows you to write your
exam within 14 days of booking. Express exam bookings are available for an
additional fee of $150. Exams booked through the regular and express service
are available only on the dates and times that appear on the regular exam
centers list. All express exam bookings are subject to availability and
confirmation by CSI's exam department.

Express exam booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
