T he International (Nice) Classification of Goods and Services categorizes different services and goods

into 45 Trademark Classes. Classes 1-34 cover Goods and 35-45 cover Services. The Indian Trademark
Registry uses these categories to classify the trademarks.

Class 2 is one of the 45 classes which includes mainly paints, anti-corrosion preparations, dyes, and
colorants.

This class of trademarks is dedicated to the following materials belonging to varied fields:

Related (Coordinated) Classes

A coordinated class is one that is related to another class, since it has been found that applicants filing
within Class 2 often file in the coordinated classes, too.

In case if the applicant is unsure whether to register in Class 2, following “coordinated” classes may also
