Abstract
Cars24 is a start- up, started in the year 2015 by Mehul Agarwal and Vikram Chopra. The company deals
with used car buying and selling and the company is growing rapidly with its presence in 10+ cities in India
and more than 50 retail outlets. This report is a first interim report submitted in partial fulfillment of the
requirements for the degree of Masters of Business Administration in Communications at Flame
University, Pune. This report outlines the duties of summer intern at Cars24 in Mumbai. The purpose of
this summer training is to provide MBA students with hands on experience of the corporate world. The
duration of the internship program is 8 weeks in which being an intern will gain practical knowledge of
how different departments in an industry works and gain knowledge as to how an organization functions
and how inter departmental activities allow smooth inflow of workforce and smooth functioning as well
as fulfillment of the needs of existing employees of the company. The internship program focuses on how
Cars24 functions in a highly unorganized sector of used cars (trying to organize the market) and helps me
to apply the different theories in different departments in the corporate line.

Background
Cars24 was founded in 2015. Mehul Agarwal and Vikram Chopra being the co- founders of the company.
The company is focused in buying used cars at the best price. Within two years of incorporation Cras24
has office in more than 10 cities and more than 50 retails centers all over India, with its head office in New
Delhi. The cities in which Cras24 is present are

 Faridabad
 Ghaziabad
 Gurgaon
 Hyderabad
 Jaipur
 Mangalore
 Mohali
 Mumbai
 New Delhi
 Noida
 Pune

The used car market is highly un- organized. Cras24 is trying to organize the market and be a middle man
between sellers and buyers of used cars. The company has 1500+ dealers registered who buy cars from
Cars24.com.

Objectives
The main objective of the Internship program is to start and work on a new vertical in Mumbai called
Cash24. It is refer and earn program. The main objective of the internship is:

 Create database of all dealers in Mumbai


 Meet all dealers and explain them the program and on- board these dealers for the program
 Also include individual brokers, through references, for the program.
 To understand the refer and earn market and the commission rate
 Develop negotiation skills with these dealers

Scope and Limitations
The scope of the Internship is to know and understand the market of used cars. Also trial and error is a
crucial part of the internship program. Meeting dealers help understand the market better as they are
present for many years and their insights are valuable for the company. There is no step wise hierarchy
and can discuss and suggest any new plans with any senior manager in the company.

Limitations is that the dealers are afraid to lose their market share in the same field so knowledge given
is not complete.

Contribution to the Project


As it is a complete new vertical in Mumbai the contribution is valuable and suggestions are taken seriously.
The commission rate has been changed with the suggestions and brochures have been introduced in the
market. Also incentives are started in the market.

Learnings from the Project


Getting to work on a new vertical is crucial and learning is huge. Also the company being a start- up I have
learnt how a start- up functions and how changes are mad in the programs. There are no hard and fast
rules regarding the hierarchy and suggestions. It is all discussed openly in slack and personally.
