verbs have “active“ and “passive“ forms

Passive Verb
Please note
In passive sentences, the thing receiving the
action is the subject of the sentence. The thing
doing the action is not necessary to include.
(Passive Subject) + (be) + (past participle of verb) + (by) + (active object)
The passive form can also be known if the thing doing the action
is unknown.

Present Continuous The cat is chasing the bird.

Past Continuous She was helping the child.
Present Perfect Many people have translated his book.
Passive Sentence
Twice a week, the lawn is mowed by Mandy
The bird is being chased by the cat.
The trophy was won by John‘s team.
The child was being helped (by her).
His book has been translated by many people.
