1. JOB PURPOSE

To participate to the OpCo strategy and architecture design for the end-to-end Radio Network and ensure robust
and high quality and optimum capacity to support various services on the 2G network. The role also involves KPI
monitoring and analysis as well as capacity dimensioning and management.
The role will require a high degree of co-ordination with Central Technical team and strategic partners for
governance of Radio Network operational activities and validation & evaluation of Radio network designs.

Provide Radio network strategic and
architecture planning, ensuring robustness,
scalability, inter-operability and
appropriate technology
Supporting Activities (“HOW”) (What are the key activities

1. Planning the 2G sites using RF planning tool (like Planet) defining
their related parameters: site coordinates, antenna type, antenna
height, antenna tilt, antenna azimuth, power, cable loss,
propagation model parameters
2. Interacting with the Zonal marketing and Geo-marketing to define
and agree on coverage targets
3. Work with Site acquisition team to find the suitable site locations
to build sites based on nominal plans
4. Validating the site configuration in the field during the technical
site survey visit and preparing the Technical Site Survey report

5. Attend neighborhood board meetings and zoning hearings to
address questions regarding radio sites; participate with federal,
state, and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning
compliance.
6. Prepare all the sites commissioning & integration related database
for new sites.
7. Eventually, in a project, coordinating and validating the technical
work of a small group of RF performance engineers
8. As an area/zone mentor, to teach, nurture and monitor the
progress and development of fellow engineers and their work
1. Prepared the Radio Network evolution proposals and compare this
with network projections and Airtel design guidelines.
2. Serve as a lead resource for coverage, capacity, and performance
activities; provide capacity planning and growth strategies; lead the
application of RF principles to performance activities
3. Prepare and submit plans for BTS operating above set threshold
for respective Zone
4. Dimensioning the RAN network (number of TRX, RBS, BSCs)
according to the coverage, capacity and quality requirements from
the operator
5. Analyzing site performance after integration through drive test
measurements and/or OSS measurements, detecting eventual
problems and recommending changes to fixing those problems
1. Continuous engagements with Strategic Partner and vendors to
ensure contractual obligations are met.
2. Analysis of Drive Test and Benchmarking activities at Regional
Level.
3. Address customer and employee complaints received, and
marketing/sales feedback, and work with RF Engineers to evaluate
and resolve complex issues.
