 First English Panel Meeting

Agenda:
1.0 Chairperson’s Address
1.1 The English head panel welcoming all the English teachers and thanked them for attending
the meeting.

2.0 Headmaster’s Address

2.1 The headmaster thanked the panel for inviting him.
2.2 The headmaster welcoming our new English teacher and also Head Panel, Mr. Wan Salmizan
Azha bin Wan Stafa.
2.3 He hopes that all the activities planned by English Panel will be smoothly held.

3.0 Confirmation of the Minutes

3.1 The confirmation of the minutes has been proposed by Mdm. Nor Aqilah binti Refing.
3.2 It has been confirmed by Mr. Zuhaidi bin Othman.

4.0 Matters Arising

4.1 ICTL
4.1.1 Mdm. Nor Aqilah reported that the program planned has not being run smoothly
since there are limited numbers of computers in the Computer Lab. Moreover, most
of the computers are malfunction.

4.2 SBOA
4.2.1 Mr. Wan Salmizan Azha reminded that English teachers have to keep all the SBOA
files.

5.0 KSSR
5.1 Mdm. Nor Aqilah stated that she has attended the KSSR Course for English Year 3.
5.2 She mentioned that there is not much difference with the Year 1 and Year 2 KSSR English
module just that they added grammar part into that.

6.0 Planning for Year 2013

 6.1 The Head Panel, Mr. Wan Salmizan Azha suggested that we should continue with this year
activities and make improvements to them.
6.2 He also had discussed with Mdm. Nor Aqilah to organize a mentor-mentee program for Year
6 pupils. The program will be more to peer coaching since the teachers will only be
observing them while the pupils who perform better in English will coach their friends.
6.3 In addition, Mr. Zuhaidi would like the members of the panel double our effort to improve
pupils’ achievement in English especially for UPSR result.

7.0 Other matters

7.1 Mr. Wan Salmizan suggested that the teachers should use different method of teaching for
exam classes and they need more drilling since early of the year (based on pupils’ ability).
7.2 All English teachers agreed that our pupils are lacked of vocabulary. As for conclusion, we
decided to go on with our ‘Learn A Word A Day’ program and hope that it will be better that
what we had done this year.
