Director of Product Development – COMARK (a/k/a THOMCAST) Southwick, Massachusetts 1/1994 – 11/1998
Promoted to this newly created position assuming full responsibility for the definition, organization, staffing, direction and
control of Product Development, Product Introduction, and Configuration Management with personnel located in both
Southwick, MA and Colmar, PA. Program Manager for the development and industry introduction of FCC Compliant
Digital TV Broadcasting Transmission Systems which pioneered many industry firsts and garnished multiple industry
awards. Implemented state-of-the-art product design methodologies and manufacturing process enhancements that
significantly improved production efficiencies to drastically reduce manufacturing cycle times and costs.
Achievements:
Provided recommendations which catalyzed a companywide Re-Organization/Re-Engineering and promotion to this
newly created Director position within 11 months of joining COMARK.
Appointed as Chairman of the THOMCAST multi-national Technical Working Group ensuring synergy and effective
transfer of Technology between operations in four countries (U.S., France, Germany and Switzerland).
Appointed as Chairman of the Quality Improvement Process (QIP) to oversee companywide re-engineering efforts,
critical business process review and the invocation of Continuous Improvement training and programs.
Slashed 60KW High-Power Amplifier production cycle time from months to daily yields by deploying DFM/A part
count reduction, concurrent & modular manufacturing and progressive assembly flow line methodologies.
Achieved targeted 8% to 15% cost reduction objectives 4 consecutive years, significantly increasing capacity.
COMARK is credited with deploying 40% of the U.S. Terrestrial HDTV Broadcast Transmission conversion.
