Standard Implementation in Geothermal Energy Sector Using ISO Methodolog, case study:
Star Energy Geothermal Wayang Windu ltd.”

The Problem of this research was most companies have not systematically measured the
economic benefits of implementing standards implemented by firms, especially the direct
impact of standards on corporate earnings. The main issue is this research is: (1) In which
areas of operations can the company benefits is the application of the standard, to the value
creation of the company?

The objectives of this research was: (1) To analyzed an operational area that can gain
additional benefits from standard implementation. (2) To measured the magnitude of the
economic benefits of the application of the standard to the value creation of the company.

The methodology of this research was used methodology that develop by ISO (Internasional
Organization for Standardization) called ISO Methodology. Assessment of the economic
value of the application of standards using the ISO Methodology, which has been develop
step by step with a simple methodology and a solid mechanism for measuring the economic
benefits of the standard.

Finding and contribution on this research was: (1) Operational areas/business functions that
gain additional benefits in the application of standards are Management and Administration,
Procurement/ Purchasing, Engineering, and Production. The value drivers that affect the
company’s largest performance is in terms of efficiency. (2) The economic value of the
impact of standard implementation amounted to Rp 1.092.006.763.590 from 2011 to 2016.
This value is equivalent to 16,65% of the total sales/turn over of the company.

Research limitation/implication in this research was the cased study conducted in Star
Energy Geothermal Wayang Windu Ltd (SEGWWL) and the data series only consits five
years back. This study did not examine the non-economic benefits of applying the standard as
well as percieved value from standard implementation.
