CHAPTER
To unite women educators of the world
in a genuine spiritual fellowship. The Delta Kappa Gamma
Society International
To honor women who have given or
who evidence a potential for distinctive
service in any field of education.
To advance the professional interest
and position of women in education.
To initiate, endorse and support
desirable legislation or other suitable
endeavors in the interests of education
and of women educators.
To endow scholarships to aid
outstanding women educators in
pursuing graduate study and to grant
fellowships to non-member women
educators.
To stimulate the personal and
professional growth of members and to
encourage their participation in
appropriate programs of action.

GAMMA PSI CHAPTER serves
educators in the San Jose area.
The Chapter was chartered in
1956 and serves active and
retired women in any field of
education. Membership is by
invitation only and considered a
prestigious honor.

GRANTS IN AID
Gamma Psi awards grants in aid to
teachers beginning in the profession for
class projects, books, and educational
materials.
SCHOOLS FOR AFRICA
Gamma Psi participates in the DKG
International Project by partnering with
UNICEF to provide money for teacher
education in several African countries.
TEACHERS HELPING ANOTHER
TEACHER - THAT
In line with the Chi State (California)
Organization, Gamma Psi participates in
the THAT program. Members volunteer in
classrooms, donate school supplies, bring
food treats, grade papers, and more for
early career educators.
JARED BOXES
Jared Boxes are containers full of games,
books, and activities for children who are
hospitalized with long-term illnesses. Each
year Gamma Psi devotes one meeting to
putting Jared Boxes together and then they
are delivered to Kaiser, Santa Clara.
LIFE FOUNDATION
LIFE is Chi State's foundation that accepts
tax-exempt donations and holds
fundraisers to award grants to Chapters
and individuals for learning and literacy
projects.
