Ciri-ciri telur Ascaris lumbricoides fertil :

 berbentuk oval
 ukuran : panjang 45 – 75 μm dan lebar 35 – 50 μm
 dinding 3 lapis : lapisan luar yang tebal berkelok-kelok (lapisan
albumin), lapisan kedua dan ketiga relatif halus (lapisan hialin dan
vitelin)
 telur berisi embrio
 berwarna kuning kecoklatan

Ciri-ciri telur Ascaris lumbricoides infertil :

 bentuk oval memanjang (kedua ujungnya agak datar)

 ukuran : panjang 88 – 94 μm dan lebar 40 – 45 μm
 dinding 2 lapis : lapisan luar yang tebal berkelok-kelok sangat kasar
/ tidak teratur (lapisan albumin), lapisan kedua relatif halus (lapisan
hialin)
  telur berwarna granula refraktil
 berwarna kuning kecoklatan

 dinding 2 lapis : lapisan luar berwarna kekuningan dan
lapisan dalam transparan
 pada kedua ujung telur terdapat tonjolan yang disebut
mucoid plug / polar plug / clear knop
 telur berisi embrio

salah satu sisinya datar
 ukuran : panjang 50 – 60 μm dan

: dinding luar merupakan lapisan
albumin yang bersifat mechanical
protection, sedangkan dinding
dalam merupakan lapisan lemak
yang bersifat chemical protection
 telur selalu berisi larva
