Introduction The SEGi Advantage
Lydia Foong
Dean, Faculty of Education, Social & Health Sciences,
SEGi College Subang Jaya
INTRODUCTION
Infants and toddlers experience life more holistically than any other age
group. Early experiences set the pattern for later learning. During this
period, young children develop the skills and attitudes that will help
them enjoy literary success for life. Adults who are most influential in
building and shaping their children’s development interact in ways
that understand they ways in which a child learns and the most
effective way to convey the message. Early childhood education
often focuses on children learning through play. Cafeteria Fully-Furnished Residence Blocks within Campus Grounds

The Parent or Primary Caregiver often plays the largest role in
the development of a child in their early years, however, a childs
development is often also influenced by other sources including
preschool or child care programs. Early childhood education takes
many forms depending on the beliefs of the educator or parent
and is a crucial part of a child’s development, effecting how they see
themselves, how they see others and how they develop thoughts. For
this reason it is imperative that early care programmes emphasise links with
family, home culture, and home language as well as the educator themselves.
