BLESSING OF THE GROUND/ FIRST FLOOR CLASSROOMS

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING

ST. MICHAEL COLLGE
CANTILAN, SURIGAO DEL SUR
MARCH 17, 2017

PRESIDER: In the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
PEACE BE WITH YOU
ALL: And with your Spirit

INTRODUCTION:
During the years of His ministry, Jesus Christ taught the people, the Good News about the
Kingdom of God. He went around doing good works teaching people of all walks of life, healing
sickness and infirmity of every kind.

“ Jesus then walked around the villages teaching. He summoned the Twelve and began to send
them out two by two, giving them authority over evil spirits…the apostle returned and reported
to Jesus all they had done and taught. “ (Mark 6:7 & 30)

Jesus a great “teacher-Situationer” ! He taught by the lake, and a large crowd gather about him
that he got into a boat and sat in it on the lake while the crowd stood on the shore. He taught
them many things through stories and parable.” (Mark 4:1-2)

The realization of this additional building is a manifestation of our responsibility to instruct the
unlearned as the congregational Charism of the founder of the congregation of the Sister of St.
Paul of Chartres..to reach out to the underprivileged and to the marginalized. Ten decades ago
from the humble beginning with only a handful of pupils ST. MICHAEL COLLEGE has now risen
into a big institution of learning. It continues its apostolate of Catholic Education for the
betterment of man and the glory of God.

Now we come together, with joyful gratitude for the blessing of these new classroom. This is a
gift to the people of Cantilan and neighboring places- a gift from God. The generosity of the
alumni and other generous Benefactors, have been an instrument to make this gift a reality. As
we bless these new classrooms, we thank God and we laud the leadership of ST. MICHAEL
COLLEGE for the realization of this project.

A READING FROM THE LETTER OF ST. PAUL TO THE PHILIPPINES ( PHIL 4:4-9)

Rejoice in the lord always, I shall say it again rejoice! Your kindness should be known to
all. The lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, make your request known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all
understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, Brothers and Sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there any excellence and if there is
anything worthy and praise, think about these things. Keep what you have learned , received,
heard and seen in me. Then the god of peace will be with you
