BLACKGOLD MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE

This procedure manual is made for the maintenance of BLACKGOLD owned by Mr. Allan
Lear, to guide the boatman on his everyday task while the CEO is out of the country. To make sure
that all things and directives are complied by the assigned person on the task.

To maintain the boat on its cleanliness and orderliness one must do the following:

1) Clean the boat cover using power washer and detergent, make sure that it’s free from dust,
water marks and molds.
Clean and brush the boats floor/deck regularly from molds and dirt.

Bucket off the water from the lifeboat’s cover and wipe it dry.

2) Polish the carbon fibre covering on the hull of the boat to free it from dust and water marks.
3) Fill the water tank with water for boat’s use purposes.
Guide for filling up the water tank:

3.1 Connect the hose from the water source from the shore.
3.2 Connect the hose to the water filter before attaching the other end of the hose to
the water tank inlet pipe.
3.3 Always check the water level from the boat control panel located on the workshop.

4) Use of vacuum machine.


Dry vacuum machine - use for cleaning inside the boat (interior of the boat).
Wet vacuum machine - use for drying water from the bilge.
5) Scrub the hull once a week. Use the dive belts, fins and mask. Using the power washer, first
connect the water hose to the inlet before the drier and then it goes to the filters and to the
outlet where another hose is connected to use for cleaning.

6) Households chores inside the boat are needed to maintain to keep it clean and tidy;

6.1 Clean towels and fold them into the cabinets.

6.2 Clean toilet and shower room, make sure to clean the sinks and bowls including the
floor corners. Wash the flooring to remove dirt and molds to prevent it from getting
slippery.
6.3 Clean the interior by sweeping and vacuuming to remove dirt and dust.
6.4 Make up the bed, tuck in the sheets and covers and fold the comforter.

6.5 When cleaning or washing make sure that the water tank is full.

7) Using the washing and drying machine;

7.1 Washing machine works only when generator is ON (select generator 2). To open
the generator go to the control panel to start it. Go to “INDEX” press “POWER
SUPPLY” press “START” on generator no. 2 row, and when the green light indicates
then “SELECT 02”.
7.2 Make sure the water tank is full or sufficient before washing.
7.3 Load the laundry and start the machine by pressing “ON” “ON” “START” then
washing cycles start.

7.4 Using the dryer machine, it doesn’t necessarily requires the generator is ON, “SHORE
POWER” is enough to power the machine. Load the clean laundry and start the
drying machine and it automatically switch offs when it’s done. Fold the clean
laundry and keep it in their respective cabinets.

8) Clean the speedboat using sponge and detergent.


9) Flush the water to circulate from the boat by pressing the flush button (blue light is ON to
know its working) once a week.

10) DO’s and DON’T’s for the boatman;


- Do work as a professional Marina.
- Do your job properly and carefully. Make your time productive.
- Don’t loiter and waste time.

11) Controller Panel

11.1 Start the generator once a week or it can be started if blowers/fans and washing
machine is needed to use.
11.2 Check the tank levels through the control panel.

10.2.1 Check the water tank level, fill if required (follow procedure #3)
10.2.2 Check the Sollage tank level, drain everyday and if necessary. To drain the
sullage tank press “INDEX” press “BLOWERS” then press “Sullage Tank”.
Make sure to switch off after draining by pressing “Sullage Tank” again.
12) Running the engine for 10 minutes once a week. To make sure that the engine is in condition
and battery were being charge. Procedure on starting the engine must be follow;

12.1 Switch ON the generator by pressing “START”, make sure that the light is green
before selecting the generator by pressing “SELECT 01” or “SELECT 02”.

12.2 When generator is ON make sure the accelerator is in “NEUTRAL” then press the
button “Station Active”.

12.3 Start “Motor 01”, after few seconds start “Motor 02”.
(if power tripped off go to the power panel and restart the breaker)
12.4 Testing Motor 01, using the left control shift FORWARD and when movement is felt
shift back at NEUTRAL, same instruction goes on BACKWARD.
12.5 Testing Motor 02, using the right control shift FORWARD and when movement if felt
shift back at NEUTRAL, same instruction goes on BACKWARD.
12.6 After testing the engine, press “Sync” and “LO IDLE” at the same time and full rev
both motor using their control at 1500 rpm.
12.7 Make sure Motor 01 battery voltage reading is 28 volts.

And Motor 02 battery voltage reading is 27 volts.

12.8 When engine is running select either Generator 01 or Generator 02 each for 5
minutes respectively. This is done to make sure that the battery are being charge to
prevent them from getting flat.
12.9 Switch off the engine after the test.
Switch off the generators and switch the supply to “SHORE POWER”.
Switch off all the blowers and fan.
13) Main 2 fire alarm may indicates during hot weather conditions, just press and select it to
“ISOLATE”.

14) Filling Fuel Tanks


14.1 Fuelling is only permitted at the Club fuelling berth. Closed containers of fuel may be
taken off or on board but transference from one container, or tank, to another is
forbidden on any jetty or wharf, or in a craft in the Marina.
14.2 Before taking on fuel, all openings shall be shut, all appliances, engines and motors
turned off - including automatic bilge pumps and pilot flames and burners of gas
units. All batteries to be isolated from the electrical system.
14.3 All crew and other personnel not directly required to assist with the fuelling must be
ashore and only re-embark after the engine has been started.
14.4 Locking filler nozzle handles preventing or slowing automatic switch-off is
prohibited. Such actions will result in significant spills and pollution and necessitate
a higher level of response by members, staff and emergency authorities.
14.5 Smoking is not permitted while refuelling. Cigarette butts shall be extinguished and
retained on board for disposal with rubbish and not thrown overboard.
14.6 Petrol, oil, or other flammable liquids, chemicals, refuse or waste such as paper or
rags contaminated with similar combustibles or pollutants shall not be discharged or
thrown into the waters in the marina, on jetty decks.
14.7 Bilge’s shall be clean and free of oil and fuel and be adequately vented. Appropriate
absorption material must be placed in the bilges and/or under engines and placed in
such a way as to trap oil and fuel before it reaches bilge pump outlets. o In the event
of a spill or internal overflow, call for assistance and use the absorbent pads located
in spill kits or kept aboard the vessel to mop up the fuel. Seek assistance.
14.8 Do Not attempt to pump spilt fuel from the vessel. Switching on electrical
systems/bilge pumps may create a flashpoint leading to serious injury and/or
destruction of property.
14.9 No engine fuel shall be stored except that contained in the vessel’s normal tanks,
used when underway.
14.10 Fuel shall only be carried in containers approved for that purpose.
14.11 No vessel shall be left unattended with its engine running while in the boat harbour
or alongside any jetty or wharf.

15) After test is done and boat is confirmed clean. Close all cover and lock all doors before
leaving the boat. Make sure that the ropes are properly tighten to prevent it from drifting
away.
