In their words…
“I didn’t have the money to have the surgery done. My vision is much more improved, that in one eye I have
20/20 vision! If it hadn’t been for Sight for All, I could not have come up with the money, even though I am
working. I thank you very much.” - Doris

“I can see now and can work in the cash register to help my son. I got my driver’s license and can help my
family! I am a more independent person now because I am confident in my vision. I am so grateful.” - Alaaeldin

“Sight for All helped me by subsidizing my cataract surgery. It allowed me to see again. Eye care is very
expensive and most people (I included) could not afford it without Sight for All’s subsidy… everyone deserves the
right to eye treatment.” - Gary

“Sight for All paid some of my bill which was a blessing for me. My life has changed because I can see a lot
better.” - Edward

“Sight for All was very generous to help me with my bill. Thank you! I can see a whole lot better. God bless you
all. Keep up the wonderful work you do. Sight for All helps so many people who would otherwise not be able to
drive, or to watch tv or to read the newspaper. Thank you. Thank you” - Marlene

“I was given the opportunity to have the necessary surgeries to keep my eyesight. I was able to return to work
and support my family. The services and assistance they (Sight for All) provide helps maintain families ability
to be able to function and maintain a quality of life.” - Douglas

“(Sight for All) helped to be able to get eyes checked and get glasses after 2 years of using readers for seeing.
I could not afford to get my eyes checked. I can see now. I had cataract surgery in the right eye 3 weeks ago.
Only need readers for small print. I tell people about Sight for All. When I am able, I want to donate.” - Sharmay

“They (Sight for All) paid for my co-pay for my cataract removal on my left eye and because of the cataract
surgery and lens implant for distance vision. I now don’t have to wear glasses for nearsightedness for the first
time in 53 years. With more donations, more people will be helped.” - Andrew

“I lost my job and needed cataract surgery. I was feeling depressed and worried that my eye sight would decline
if I didn’t get the surgery. I thought I was out of options, but Sight for All came through to take care of me. I will
be forever grateful.” - Jerry

Students for Sight Supports Sight for All United

Students for Sight has a new chapter at Youngstown State University. The student organization officially registered over the
summer for the 2017-2018 school year. Their goal is to raise awareness about vision needs in our community, fundraise, and
direct people in need of help. Through their partnership with Sight for All United, students have dedicated many hours
volunteering for this cause.

President Saidah Yusuf, a sophomore biology major and aspiring vision care provider, worked hard to spearhead the
involvement of students with the cause. “Vision is something I am really passionate about as well as helping out the
community. Almost everyone that I encounter has had vision problems or knows someone in their family who struggles with
achieving their best vision, whether it is with replacing their sibling’s broken glasses, or parents not being able to afford their
surgeries. Students for Sight is a great organization that allows any student the opportunity to help with the cause.” Northeast
Ohio Medical University started a chapter in 2016 for medical students wishing to volunteer and concerned about vision
services. Both groups of students volunteered during the 2nd Eye Ball and helped make the event a huge success. These
students have also been involved in Sight for All United’s research efforts to evaluate need and services in the Valley.

30 Students for Sight participated at the 2nd Eye Ball of the Students for Sight held a fundraiser “Bobbing for Eyeballs” on Halloween
Mahoning Valley and volunteered their time to the event. Here to bring awareness to their club and try and attract new members.
they are taking instructions on selling raffle tickets. Currently there are 25 YSU students in the Students for Sight Club.
