SUMMARY OF CHANGES

This Summary of Changes provides a brief description of changes


made to the Navy Uniform Regulations since the last update. For
specific details of those changes, see the noted chapter, section, and
article.

TABLE OF CONTENTS Page

Page revised to reflect the addition of a new Section 6 (3600) to


Chapter 3. This new section provides a description and wear of new
uniform components for the Physical Training Uniform (PTU) (3601),
Service Uniform (SU) (3602), and the Navy Working Uniform (NWU)
(3603).

CHAPTER 1

Section 1, Article 1101.1b – Navy Uniform Board. Article revised to


reflect the Navy Uniform Board changes announced in NAVADMIN 310/07.

CHAPTER 2

No changes.

CHAPTER 3

Article 3501.11 – Cap, Knit (Watch), Black. Article revised to


reflect the knit watch cap is authorized to be worn by all hands when
wearing the Physical Training Uniform (PTU) and Navy Working Uniform
(NWU) as prescribed in NAVADMIN 191/08 and 343/08 respectively.
Correct wear revised to provide for covering of the ears in cold
weather.

Article 3501.30 - Jacket, Black, Khaki Windbreaker. Article revised


to reflect the black relax fit (with a stand-up knit collar) jacket
may be optionally worn by E-6 and below with the new Service Uniform
as announced in NAVADMIN 190/08. Additionally, it describes how E6
and below females wearing the new Service Uniform overblouse and the
relax fit jacket, will fold the overblouse up and into the jacket.
The overblouse should not extend below the bottom of the jacket when
worn.

Sections 2, 3, and 4 - Added uniform component descriptions, general


requirements, and pictures for the following new uniforms:

announced in NAVADMIN 191/08 (PTU), 190/08 (SU), and 343/09 (NWU):

Section 1, General Requirements and Information. Added Fiscal Year


(FY)-2009 Clothing Maintenance Allowance (CMA) Seabag List, following
the Fabric Chart (Table 3-1-3).

CHAPTER 4

Section 2, Article 4227 - Collar Insignia. Article revised to reflect


the addition of a new E2/3 collar insignia and proper placement of the
collar devices for E2 to E6 Sailors wearing the new Service Uniform
Khaki shirt or Overblouse as announced in NAVADMIN 190/08.

CHAPTER 5

Section 1, Article 5101.3.e - Navy/Fleet/Force/CNO-Directed/Command/


Chief of the boat) (Command Senior Enlisted Leader Identification
Badge). Article revised to reflect the change in placement of the
Command Senior Enlisted Leader Identification Badge announced in
NAVADMIN 274/07.

CHAPTER 6

Section 6, Article 6601 – General (Uniforms for Naval Personnel


serving with other Services). Article revised to reflect Navy
policies regarding special uniform situations for Navy personnel
assigned to and serving with an Army unit as announced in NAVADMIN
038/07.

CHAPTER 7

No changes.
