Fire Network Integration

Safety
Products XL Graphics C/S – Color Graphics Software

XL Graphics C/S (XLG) provides annunciation, status display and control for a number of different
fire networks using a Windows® based graphical interface with a high-resolution color display.

Multiple XL Graphics clients can be installed on a TCP/IP network to provide additional display
and/or control screens. A client could be installed as a maintenance/engineer's terminal for
performing fire alarm tests independently of the primary operator workstation.

System Schematic

Utilizing a Client/Server configuration individual

XLG workstations can be assigned restricted
access levels for annunciation and control of the
fire network. In addition login names and
passwords give administrators the power to
restrict operator control on any workstation on
the fire and security network.
Client/Server operation for non-critical XL
Graphics workstations can utilize an existing
TCP/IP infrastructure. Deployment of XL
Clients for these types of non-critical
workstations (eg. Engineering/Maintenance
Department) can help reduce the Total Cost of
Ownership
In this example, the Administration Building
Client will only annuniciate events from devices
in the Administration building.
Buildings can also be handed off by the Primary
XLG workstation in the Fire and Security Center
to The Maintenance and Engineering client
during fire detector testing. This ensures that real
alarms from another building will not be "lost"
amongst continuous test alarms.

Graphics Screens (Graphics Mode)

Graphic screens can provide easily recognizable site plan
and floor plan information. The level of detail can be
customized for each specific site to easily and accurately
direct the operator to the immediate area of interest.
Icons can be added to identify the exact location of the
active device and optional hyperlinks can be used to
directly "zoom" to other predetermined screens for more
detail.
In addition to screen text or graphic information, the
operator will be presented with specific custom messages
that provide emergency response information and
directions. These custom messages are easily edited for
local requirements.

Text Mode
Text mode lists the active events in the system.
The events are listed chronologically and via event type
priority, with the latest and highest priority events at the
top. Events can be sorted in any order by any column, as
desired.
An event’s Device icon can easily be located on its
graphics screen by selecting the event in Text Mode and
then clicking the Locate Icon button. Doing so will change
the window from Text to Graphics Mode and highlight the
Device Icon.

Dual Monitor Support

XL Graphics Supports the use of two monitors. Where a
second monitor is present, XL Graphics can be configured
to simultaneously display the Graphics Screen on one
monitor and the Text Screen on the other.
