METRO TERMINAL CUM INTERCHANGE

(SINDHI CAMP) JAIPUR

ABSTRACT

The city, Jaipur is served by one train terminal i.e.- Jaipur junction and one bus

terminal i.e. – Sindhi camp bus terminal, which handles about 65% of the total

passenger trips to Jaipur, i.e. about 55-60 trains and 100-125 buses daily and an

average of 40,000 passengers daily which increases to about 60,000 during holiday

seasons. Though Sindhi camp road is widened a few years back from 18.2 mtrs to

30.48 mtrs. to ease congestion near the station and bus stand, the increase in traffic

has out-spaced the scale of these meagre facilities.

To relieve congestion from one of majorly used road of city and to provide relief to all

those passengers to travel across the city with ease, a metro station cum

interchange terminal should be designed to connect the 3 major corners of this city.

INTRODUCTION

serving Rajasthan’s capital & biggest city. Construction for its 9.63 km Pink Line

under Phase 1A started in 2011 and the line became operational in June 2015.

2014 and is expected to be operational in mid-2018. Phase 2 of the project includes

a new Orange line which will connect the heart of the city with the Airport and

onward to the Sitapura Industrial Area. This line is planned to be built on the Public-
