PAGEANT
GENERAL MECHANICS
1. All participants must be a bona fide student of GSDMSFI and must come from the department he/she is
representing.
2. Each team must have 2 pairs of candidates as their representatives.
3. Each candidate will bear the number assigned by the Supreme Student Council.
4. It is the candidate’s responsibility to signify his/her presence one hour before the competition. Candidates
not present within 5 minutes after call time will automatically be disqualified.
5. No substitution of participant/s is allowed once his/her name has been submitted to the Supreme Student
Council and has been tagged as final.
6. The decision of the members of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
7. Violation of any of the set rules will result to disqualification.
PRE-PAGEANT
1. The candidates must submit a biodata duly authorized by the Department Head or program head.
2. Pictorials, rehearsals, sizing for costumes, and final staging scheduled by the Supreme Student Council, in
consideration of everyone’s convenience, must be strictly followed. Absence during said activities will
result to deduction/s of 20 points/absence from his/her team’s total team score.
A consolidated score from the first SIX (6) segments will determine the pairs that will move on to the Top
Three (3).
Every minor award will earn the winning candidate’s team 50 points.
MAJOR AWARDS
For the major awards, the candidates will be judged during the Q&A (Final Interview) segment with the
following criteria:
SELF-CONFIDENCE…………….50%
WIT & CONTENT………………...30%
IMPACT TO THE AUDIENCE….20%
TOTAL……………………………100%
NOTE: SCORES OF THE TOP 3 PAIRS WILL REVERT TO ZERO DURING THE Q&A.
(i.e. Candidates will be solely judged by the criteria above and scores for the major awards will not
include scores accumulated by the candidates during the preliminary round – Segments 1 - 6)
MINOR AWARDS

1. Candidates will be wearing the customary attire provided by the organizer. Female must wear
heels.

1. Candidates will introduce themselves in the most creative way possible given that they do within
1 ½ minutes.

TALENT PORTION
1. Pairs from each team shall perform their prepared production number in less than 5 minutes
(prep time is inclusive).

1. Each pair will deliver a Hugot & Banat set. The female candidate will deliver her “hugot” and the
male candidate will respond with his “banat.” The whole performance must be delivered within 5
minutes.
2. It is within the pair’s decision if they want to add a concept story behind their Hugot & Banat.

PRELIMINARY INTERVIEW
1. Candidates will be given a set of questions a week prior to the pageant night. During the
Preliminary portion, each candidate will pick a question and must deliver their answer
confidently. Delivery must not exceed 2 minutes.
2. Questions will be hilarious in nature and the candidates will be judged by the wittiness of their
answers.
3. Criteria for judging:

1. The candidates will wear their respective coat and tie (for males) and evening gown (for
females).
2. Male and female candidates will be judged as follows:
SPECIAL AWARDS
1. A week or so before the Pageant Night, a short video showcasing each candidate will be released on the
school’s official Facebook page, General Santos Doctors’ Medical School Foundation, Inc.
2. Prior to start of voting, a teaser video will also be released to alert and give the public notice about the
impending polling.
3. VOTING: Only facebook “LOVE REACTS” will be counted, facebook “likes” and other “reacts” have no
point bearing.
4. END OF POLL: February 14, 2018 at exactly 5 PM.
5. An SSC Officer will take note of the actual number or love reacts to determine the winners. Winners will be
announced during the Pageant Night.
1. Winners will be based on how confident they are in doing their “walks” on the ramp.
