PREMIUM QUALITY
MATERIALS
Aluminum
Whether cast, spun or extruded,
only the best aluminum alloys are
used in Kim landscape products.
Extra heavy wall thickness is
engineered into every component
for increased strength, and each
aluminum fixture receives an
eight-stage powder coat paint finish.
See page 7.
Gopper and Bronze
The design, manufacture and finish-
ing of copper and bronze fixtures is
a craft that dates back seven
decades at Kim. The ultimate
material for corrosion resistance,
Kim copper and bronze fixtures are
offered in a hand applied verde
patina, or unfinished to allow natu-
ral aging. See page 7.

PRODUCTION AND
ASSEMBLY
Kim products are manufactured
with the latest computer automated
machinery. Rigid inspection is
performed by quality control staff to
assure conformance to engineering
specifications. Final assembly is
performed by dedicated individuals
who support the Kim heritage of
uncompromised quality.
FINISHING
Eight-Stage Powder Goat
All Kim aluminum fixtures are fin-
ished with an eight-stage powder
coat paint system. The key element
of this finish is the chromate pre-
treatment, known as the best
precoating for paint adhesion and
corrosion resistance. This same
pretreatment is also used on com-
mercial aircraft.
Hand.Applied Verde
The formula and application proce-
dure for Kim's acid etched verde
green patina was developed by the
founder of Kim Lighting seven
decades ago.
The proprietary finish is hand applied
to selected copper and bronze fix-
tures to simulate the natural patina
that often develops on these materials
after years of exposure to sun and
moisture. Hand application assures a
uniform appearance.

PERFORMANCE
Kim landscape luminaires are
engineered to use the latest lamp
technology including halogen,
compact fluorescent and metal
halide sources. This assures maxi-
mum performance with minimum
energy consumption.
ln addition, Kim design philosophy
emphasizes the creation of lighting
effects, not the display of lighting
fixtures. They harmonize with the
landscape by day and become
secondary to the effect by night.

THE FINAL PRODUCT

No other manufacturer of land-
scape lighting has the experience
and heritage of Kim Lighting. For
seventy years Kim has been at the
forefront of landscape lighting with
quality products for commercial and
residential applications.
When you purchase or specify Kim
products, you are assured of choos-
ing the highest quality and value
currently available in the market.

Cables and Connectots V4 r.rr

The greatest benefit of installing a low voltage lighting system

is the ability to conceal the flexible electrical cable within, un-
der, and around low planting and other landscape elements
such as rock compositions.
The cable itself can remain above grade hidden by foliage or
bark, or, it can be completely buried at any depth under soil or
gravel.
The connectors can remain above grade, be surface mounted
using the two mounting holes provided, or can be buried in
soil or gravel. Dielectric mastic is included for waterproofing
the cable connections. See page 51.
