Warm-up and Objective Discussion


Ask the students about the weekend and if they got some plans. Ask the students about tech and how this
will change our lives in the future Explain that today the students will learn about 'be going to' , and
more specifically how to express plans and predictions based on evidence. Explain they will include 3
plans and 3 predictions they will turn in at the end of the class.

Instruct and Model  R W  L S


Show slide 2 of “uses of be going to”. Explain the purposes of the be going to. Show slides 3,4,5. Explain
the grammar structure of be going to. Show slide 6. Explain how to express plans . Show slide 7,8.
Explain how to express predictions based on evidence.

Guided Practice  R  W L S
Write on the board three plans I have for my weekend. Read them to the class.

Write on the board a prediction for the future based on my own cellphone. Read it to the class

Less-Guided Practice: students work in small groups. Each group write 5 predictions about the future of
the technology based on the devices they use every day and five plans they have for the weekend. They
will read it to the class.

Independent Practice  R  W  L S

Have the students to write 3 plans they have for the next month and three predictions for the
future of the technology, based on the devices they use every day. They will read it to the class.

Assessment  R  W  L S

Students will bring 3 plans for the weekend from friends or relatives

Students will bring 3 predictions of the future of technology from friends or relatives, based on
their own cellphones.

They will read it to the class
