just pressing them?
What if every software developers know what it takes to be professionals in software delivery
and transparent with the quality of the software they deliver and the estimates they give?

These are the goals for using Scrum. But in reality we have not yet seen these ideal situations
around us. This way of working is not yet the standard in the software delivery industry.

Many workers are still waiting to be told what to do and do not feel safe to self-manage.
Many managers have not used their authority to serve the people they lead.
Many customers have no empathy towards software developers.
Many software developers does not know about professionalism in delivering high-quality
software.

Scrum Day Bandung Conference started with a dream of having an ideal software delivery
ecosystem. This dream came from several software delivery practitioners at the city of
Bandung. An ecosystem where every workers are self-organised, every managers are putting
aside their political will and have the heart to serve their people, every customers have
empathy towards software developers and every software developers are professional in
delivering high-quality software.

In general we have not yet seen these kind of software delivery ecosystem. We want to see
it. And we are certain that you also wish to see it hence you are reading this proposal because

Since the first time we ran Scrum Day Bandung Conference, we realized that we can not
change people but we can only inspire them and we can only hope they are motivated to
change. Scrum Day Bandung is a conference that we designed to inspire others about
change. We think Scrum Day Bandung is more than just a conference. We call it as a
movement to make a change that will lead to an ideal software delivery ecosystem. This
conference is a platform for leaders, managers and change agents who have concerns about
agility and professionalism in software delivery ecosystem to meet, to share experience and
to support each other. Unlike other conferences where participants only leave the event with
information and knowledge, at Scrum Day Bandung participants will feel inspired and
empowered to make a change in their respective companies or organisations.

Scrum Day Bandung 2018 will be held for one day. At this year’s Scrum Day Bandung
Conference we have chosen the theme: Service-Based Leadership For Adaptability in the
Face of Global Challenges because we would like to see more leaders lead by serving.

Service-Based Leadership can upscale team members’ potentials that will lead to high
business agility and high quality products. With Service-Based Leadership companies will
have the ability to adapt in global challenges such as market trend changes and technology
changes. If companies do not have the agility, companies will miss opportunities to stay
competitive in the market. To implement Service-Based Leadership successfully, companies
need to have many servant leaders.

Servant leaders are heroes that dare to take risks. Servant leaders sacrifice their own self for
the greatness of others. Success can be a coincidence but heroes exist because of courage.
This year we are presenting heroes who have shown courage and made a difference in a
company that have improved the society. We want to hear stories from servant leaders who
not only pushed Scrum mechanics but also Scrum values and principles that have changed
the way people in the company work together in delivering high-quality products. We are
presenting these people to influence hundreds of leaders, managers and change agents who
will attend this annual conference.

Target Audience
This event is targeted for 500 participants from many different company structure from South
East Asia. This event is specifically targeted for managers, leaders and change agents. The
main target audience are change agents in software delivery ecosystem and decision makers
in a company from all over South East Asia.

Product Owners
Product Owners are those who holds the vision of a product and responsible to maximise
the value of the product. These people have entrepreneurial mindset and have been
empowered by the stakeholders to maximise the value of the product.

Corporate Leaders
Corporate Leaders have a vital role to make change happen and change become
persistent. Corporate Leaders are expected to have an agile mindset, lead differently
and also adaptive to market changes so that the company can stay competitive and
sustainable.

Scrum Masters / Scrum Coaches

Scrum Masters are servant leaders who have a role to change the company to be
adaptive in facing global challenges. These people have professionalism mindset and
have been empowered by the corporate leaders to be the agent of change to coach
everyone in the company to understand the company’s goal and to be agile to meet
those goal.

Middle Managers have an important role in agile transformation and can not be
underestimated. Middle managers are expected to support the change process and not

Conference Agenda
Talks
The speakers are thought-leaders in the software delivery ecosystem that have been
selected thouroughly by an independent event committee. The speakers will inspire the
conference attendees to lead a change in their respective companies.

Open Discussion
We provide open space for attendees to discuss topics that may be controversial from
traditional management perspectives. These discussion will be facilitated by two or more
experienced Professional Scrum Masters in the provided meeting room.

Networking
We provide a space in the foyer for professionals to network with each other and
exchange information and experience on how to practice Scrum.

Coaches Clinic
We provide booths with sofas for attendees to ask difficult questions about Scrum
implementation. Experienced Professional Scrum Masters will be available throughout
the conference to attend to attendees concerns and questions.

Workshop/Simulation
There will be hands-on activity in a workshop or simulation format where attendees
experience how to implement agile practices that can be used inside the Scrum
framework. This activity will be facilitated by an experienced coach.

Terms and Conditions

The contract for sponsoring Scrum Day Bandung 2018 explains the terms and conditions
that explains the agreement between the organiser and the sponsor. As a sponsor you will
agree with the terms and conditions written in this document.

Sponsorship Cancellations
We will return 50% of sponsor money if you make cancellations with written consent 30
days before the conference. We will not return sponsor money if the cancellations is
made within 30 days before the conference.

We have the rights to cancel the conference if there are unexpected conditions that is
beyond our control (i.e extreme weather conditions) or when there are low number of
registration for the event. After we make the cancellation we will return the net amount
of sponsor money minus the costs that we spent with third-party vendor that have been
allocated for you. We are not obligated to return the money with interestests or other
form of compensations.

Sponsor Money Transfer

Sponsor money must be transferred to our bank account at least 7 days after we have
sent you the invoice. If we have not received the sponsor money within 7 days, we have

 the rights to replace your spot with other sponsors and cancel the sponsorship
