● Owned and operated a small one-acre hop farm

● Grew and sold wet and dry hops to michigan breweries .

Lab Technician / Great Lakes Hops

● Researched and attempted different methods in how to eradicate

viruses from the hop plants
● Practiced sterile techniques with a fume hood and ran tests with a
spectrometer
● Ran Alpha acid tests with different hop varieties
● Learned how to propagate and transplant hop plants
● Used fertilizer and pesticides to maintain hop plants
● Operated a skid steer.

I attended two half day professional development meetings with the Zeeland

to incorporate and switch to NGSS.

Fire Up! Conference

I attended a Fire Up! Conference at Calvin in College in October of 2017. At
this conference, various educational professionals held classes that served to
support and inspire future teachers
