4th International Scientific and Artistic Conference


GEOMETRY IN DISCOURSE - DISCOURSE IN GEOMETRY
titled COMPLEXITY
8-12 September 2018

1. The conference consists of a scientific part and an artistic part.


2. The scientific part will include 20-22 speeches, lectures and self-
CONDITIONS presentations within panel sessions.
3. The artistic part includes two exhibitions and a chamber concert.
4. The application for participation should be submitted via the
APPLICATION FORM sent to the following address:

5. The APPLICATION FORM is attached to the regulations.
6. The interested party will receive an e-mail with information about acceptance or rejection of the
application.
7. Participation in the Conference and accompanying exhibitions is payable. The fees are: 250 Euro –
active participation, 50 Euro – passive participation.
8. Active participation in the scientific part includes: participation in all events of the Conference,
presentation of the paper (duration of the speech: 20 minutes), conference materials,
documentation of the Conference in digital form, promotion of the event, certificate of active
participation.
9. Active participation in the artistic part includes: participation in all events of the Conference, self-
presentation of artistic achievements (duration of the speech: 15 minutes), participation in the
exhibition, conference materials, conference documentation in digital form, promotion of the
event, certificate of active participation.
10. Passive participation in the scientific part includes: participation in all open events of the
Conference, conference materials, coffee breaks, passive participation certificate.
11. Passive participation in the artistic part includes only participation in the exhibition (concerns
invited artists who, due to various reasons, will not be able to come to the conference).
12. The cost of accommodation, meals and coffee breaks of active participants is covered by the
organizers.
13. Travel costs are to be covered by the participants.
14. At the participant's request, the organizer will issue an invoice for participation in the conference.
The organizer is not a VAT payer.
15. The interested party will receive an e-mail with information about acceptance or rejection of the
application on substantive or formal grounds.
16. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation in the conference.

1. The deadline for submitting abstracts with short information about the
author is June 30, 2018.
SCIENTIFIC PART
2. The volume of the abstract should not exceed 2000 characters with
spaces. Information about the author: 500-2000 characters with spaces.
3. Abstracts and notes about the author should be sent to:
discursive.geometry.c@gmail.com on the APPLICATION FORM.
4. The deadline for sending full papers is the first day of the conference, September 8, 2018.
5. The volume of the article (only in doc, docx or rtf formats) should be about half of the publishing
sheet, maximum 22,000 characters with spaces and footnotes (for participants from Poland).
6. The remaining participants are asked to send articles about the volume in accordance with the
parametric requirements in their countries.
7. Footnotes are to use the Oxford system with a numerical link placed at the bottom of the page.
Description of the footnote: author, title, place and year of publication and page number.
8. Bibliography, if included, also in the Oxford system. Examples:
• author, year, title, place of publication
• author, year, title [in:] title, editor, place of publication

1. The artistic part consists of two exhibitions:


• COMPLEXITY, XX1 Gallery in Warsaw, as well as a chamber concert,
ARTISTIC PART
• CONCRETE / DISCOURSE / COMPLEXITY, XS Gallery, Institute of Fine
Arts UJK in Kielce.
2. About 10 artists are planned to participate in the COMPLEXITY
exhibition, and about 50 artists from Europe, the USA and South Korea are
planned to participate in the CONCRETE / DISCOURSE / COMPLEXITY exhibition.
3. The deadline for submitting applications to participate in exhibitions (on the APPLICATION FORM) is
April 30, 2018.
4. Author's comments (up to 2,000 characters with spaces) and notes about the author (500-2000
characters with spaces) should be sent to: discursive.geometry.c@gmail.com on the APPLICATION
FORM, along with two photographs of works, characteristic for the author. The images submitted in
the documentation do not have to be presented at the exhibition.
5. The artists qualified for the exhibition will receive detailed information on the dates and place of
delivery of the works.
6. Each participant can prepare 1-2 works in a square format not larger than 60x60 cm or in a
rectangular format no larger than 50x70 cm.
7. The works should be framed and prepared for exhibition.
8. The delivery and collecting works back are at the expense of the participant.
9. Optionally, you can send digital work files for printing and framing by the organizers. In this case, the
work will be printed on the 50x50 cm or 50x70 cm format. The cost of printing and framing is 20 EURO
for one item. Artists who wish to use this option are asked to pay 20 EURO (1 work) or 40 EURO (2
works) to the organizer's BIC account along with the conference fee.

EURO (passive participation) and additional fees for printing and framing
CONFERENCE FEE of digitally sent works, respectively 20 EURO (1 work) or 40 EURO (2 works)
should be transferred to the organizer's account no later than September
3, 2018.

3. No payment within the specified time entitles the organizer to withdraw from the contract without
liability.

1. All participants will be accommodated in single rooms equipped with


ACCOMMODATION two beds.
2. The place of accommodation is the European Center for Geological
Education (ECEG) in Korzecko near Chęciny.
3. Participants can come with an accompanying person. In this case, the
accompanying person bears only the costs of meals, payable directly in the
restaurant.

2. Participants of the Conference grant automatic consent to the

processing of personal data for organizational and promotional purposes,
as well as to taking photos of their artistic works and photos with their
image during particular events, their consolidation, use, processing and
copying using any medium for promotional and archiving purposes of the
Organizer, without the need to confirm them each time.
2. The organizer reserves the right to cancel the Conference for important reasons. In this situation,
participants will receive a refund of payments made.
