1. I chose incohesive use of quotations because it’s one of
things I did often in AP US History in effort to seem, as
demonstrated by Stedman in his essay, authoritative.
2. I chose the mismatch annoyance because it’s one of those
guidelines I wasn’t aware of but see how it would be
frustrating to someone wanting more information on the work.
3. I chose, as Stedman once again put, the patchwriting
annoyance because it’s something I, in retrospect, did in my
AP English Composition class every now and then.

DOCUMENTATION STYLE RESEARCH OBSERVATIONS

The documentation style for computer science/engineering is by large
the style set forth by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE) and is a numbered citation style that generally
models the Chicago Manual of Style in terms of grammar, style, and
usage with specification in all types of research. It includes guidance
for math, characters, programming, units, and the numerical footnote
citation. IEEE style details and consist mostly of field research in all
types of sources besides perhaps interviews though conferences and
publications released there are.
It notably outlines specifically appropriate ways of including
abbreviation of measurements, mathematical expressions, authors
and their bios/contact and relevant background, probably for contact
and collaborative purposes? The numbered, inline footnote numerical
citation style is completely different but serves to emphasis the
subject matter. Symbols and characters are also specified partly in
relevance of the importance in distinction in some programming
languages.

METHODOLOGY

My approach to researching the IEEE style for publications in computer science and electrical engineering publications was mostly derived
straight from the manual provided by the IEEE, reading through it, then focusing on the features that weren’t existant in other types of styles
and citations. I specifically started by doing a google to get a sense of what styles are used and I learned (entering in “citation style for
computer science,” and clicking on the stack exchange link) that most CS publications go through either the IEEE or ACM. I then searched
citation on their website and found a pdf about their style guidelines. My largest limitation of my research would be my capacity to understand
the function of the described guidelines and style were for.
