All participants have an option to leave their current jobs and start their own
business. The cost of starting a business is 100,000 PayDas. This option is available
to the participants only in the first round.
The profit earned from business will be calculated as follows: Profit= 162,500 –
((B/N)*58000)
Here, B= No. of participants opting for a Business N= Total no. of participants
Suppose, there are 200 participants and 100 of them opt for a business. So, the
profit for people starting their business will be: Profit= 162500 –((100/200)*58000)=
133500.
This amount of profit remains constant through all the 3 rounds. The participants
starting a business will not receive any amount of salary. Also, this amount of
profit remains unaffected whether the participant takes education or not.
Lastly, the participants starting their business will receive 5 STATUSPOINTSaswell.
Investing in Equity
Status points are a form of premium that Journeymen find in life for
consuming a more useful/elite product.
Such a premium is added to the cash in hand of a Journeyman
individually, for every round, AFTER the round ends.
The cash reward of Status Points in the game can be quantified with the
following formula-
(Your status points divided by average Status points of all Journeymen
in game) multiplied by (Average cash balance available with the
participants divided by 4).
For example –In Round 2, you have invested in 30 Status points. The
average investment in status points is 39 points. Also, the fellow
Journeymen have an average cash balance of 200,000 Paydas at the
end of the round, then the reward which you get for investing in status
points is =30/39 *200,000/4
Status points fetch Journeymen cash at the end of a round, which is
equal in magnitude to the mentioned formula for its calculation. This
cash can be used for any purposes in the following rounds.
While calculating the cash reward for status points, ONLY the status
points for THAT current round are considered. Any status points from
previous rounds are not carried forward.
The idle cash in hand here is the average amount of investible cash
which a team can use to buy securities after making all the other
expenditure choices in the round.
Journeymen may RETAIN existing accommodation or transport
means, which involve no further cost. They may, alternatively
CHANGE the means they purchased in Round1 (or Round2).
Once transports are bought, these means may be resold at a
depreciated value of 60% of the original, irrespective of the
round number. New transports have to be bought at the original
value.
For example, “Y” purchased a Sedan at Age 24, and wants to
change to a 2 wheeler at age 36. Thus Y, for this change, will end
up paying 25,000 Paydas for the 2 wheeler, and will get back
1,00,000*0.6 PayDas for the Sedan which he owned previously.
BONUS OR BLUNDER?
Winner will be adjudged the winner, who completes his 60th year as
the richest man.
For quantifying wealth, the following formula is used –
[Cash in hand at the end of the game] –[Total Outstanding Debt] +
(Market Valueof current accommodation) +0.8*(cost of current
means of transport) +[ENDvalue ofsecurities]
Any unsold securities will be automatically valued at the end of the
third round.
