This text has been easier for me to understand, I do not know if it is because it is less specific or

because it talked about topics that already we’ve read.

It talks about the problems that exist in schools to teach a foreign language. It also talks about the
methodology to follow, the studies or level of teachers ...

The part of the introduction is an idea that affects me a lot and it's something that I've been thinking
no long since. Now that I'm living in Madrid, the theme of the accent is something that makes me
feel bad and at the same time proud. It makes me feel bad, because people often do not understand
me. At the beginning of the year, for example, I was talking to a colleague at work and I told her
that I had to prepare an oral English test, and she said: "On top of that it's English, you Andalusian"
as if that were a bad thing. At the beginning it affected me, but then I realized that we have an
accent, but at least we know how to use the grammar I do not think that because we are
Andalusians we are less able to learn another language. We have a more marked accent, but so do
the French, Italians or Indians and nothing happens.

I think the problem, as it says in the text, is not only in Andalusia, it is in all of Spain and it is due to
teacher training. We are not prepared to teach English correctly. I have a friend who did de state
exman in english, because even if she didn’t pass, she would have a job; and she speaks English
worse than me. He told me that I should do the same. But I do not consider that to be the future of a
quality education. The day I go to the exams as an English teacher is because I can speak English
fluently and accurately.

It made me think a lot exactly that part, that of "fluency and accuracy" .When I read that I thougth,
that we as a teacher have to give more importance to fluency than accuracy, it seemed the most
logical and the best method, the children are not stressed on how to say things, if not what to say, it
seemed reasonable. Then, if they learn a word badly, nothing happens, because …..

Also, after reading the text, I asked my friend, who works as an English teacher, if she spoke
English in her classes and she said: "What do you say! I teach him some words and grammar "

I do not want to be one of those teachers. I believe that the basis for learning a language is to speak
it, also as the text says it is the most difficult skill and if we as teachers do not give it the importance
it has, we will not teach correctly and then what? We lose the goal of education, right?

Another thing that I really liked is that the children interact with each other and move around the
classes. Many times we want the children to be seated and quiet from 9 in the morning until 2 or
even 5 in the afternoon. Can not be! They are children, they have biological needs for movement,
they need to talk, to run, to laugh, in conclusion to move.

In conclusion, this text is a good summary of what we find in the classroom of foreign languages
and is also a good summary of the previous texts.
